Mohamed Salah frustrated Florian Wirtz in their Champions League match against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Mohamed Salah infuriated Florian Wirtz in a crucial moment during Liverpool’s Champions League victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Liverpool ended their four-game losing drought with a comfortable come-from-behind win over Frankfurt on Wednesday.

However, their Champions League match got off to the worst possible start when the Bundesliga team opened the scoring through Rasmus Kristensen.

However, the Premier League winners responded with five goals, with ex-Frankfurt star Hugo Ekitike tying the game in the 35th minute.

Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate scored from corners to make it 2-1 and 3-1 before halftime.

Following the resumption, Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai scored a fourth and fifth.

Salah, who started the game on the bench, had the opportunity to extend Liverpool’s lead when he came on in the second half.

He was passed through on goal but was unable to score from a tight angle.

Salah’s decision to shoot disappointed Wirtz, who would have had a tap-in if the ball had been squared.

Wirtz appeared angry after Michael Zetterer’s save, throwing his arms up to express his dissatisfaction with his colleague.

The exchange between Salah and Wirtz drew attention from Liverpool fans on social media, who expressed their feelings.

One X user remarked, “Twice in four days, Mo Salah doesn’t just square it for a Wirtz tap. So poor man,” while a second added: “That’s so greedy from Salah, Wirtz is right there for his first goal ffs.”

A third person asked: “Salah can be so annoying, why the hell didn’t you square it for Wirtz there?”

A fourth slammed: “Selfish Salah is costing Wirtz 3 g/a game ffs.”

Wirtz did not score, but he did offer two assists, which were his first in a Liverpool shirt.

He assisted Gakpo and Szoboszlai after coming off the bench.

Wirtz will be hopeful that he has done enough to please Arne Slot and return to the starting lineup.

Liverpool return to league play on Saturday, against Brentford.
