NBC pundit reveals brutal truths Amorim learned from first Man Utd match, but one player a ‘bright spot’

According to NBC Sports analyst Robbie Earle, there won’t be any quick cures for Manchester United under Ruben Amorim, but the new manager will be impressed by one player in an unexpected position.

Marcus Rashford, who was used as a striker, gave Manchester United the lead against Ipswich Town in the first two minutes of Sunday’s match, igniting the Amorim era. At Portman Road, the hosts scored the lone goal that followed, which was unfortunate for the Red Devils.

A 1-1 draw seemed like a fair outcome, especially when Andre Onana repeatedly denied Ipswich forward Liam Delap from close range in what was maybe his best performance to date while wearing a United shirt.

NBC Sports analyst Robbie Earle gave his opinion when co-host Rebecca Lowe asked what Amorim would have learned from his first game as manager.

Earle started off by saying, “He’s a football coach with a tactics board and not a magic wand.” “It doesn’t happen and won’t happen by itself.

Although the execution wasn’t perfect, we noticed indications of organization, and things will improve. Employees will change, and things will improve.

Even if they have good possession and are generally in control of the game in the second half, having just one shot on goal will be a cause for concern. There is still much work to be done.

Some players, in my opinion, were not playing spontaneously; instead, they were pondering. An excellent illustration is [Alejandro] Garnacho.

Garnacho had the opportunity to play the ball two or three times, but it seemed like he had other ideas running through his mind. They must strike a balance between playing naturally and thinking about playing.

On the plus side, Earle asserted that Amorim will have been pleased with Amad Diallo’s performance as a right wing-back.

“A bright spot “Amad on the right side at wing-back, I would say,” Earle went on. Since he is a winger, we weren’t sure if he could play that position.

He was a threat on the right side, made the goal, and played strong defense. The coach has a lot of work to do, but there are [good] things to take away.

Roy Keane says Ruben Amorim has “big problems.”
As a Sky Sports employee, Man Utd legend Roy Keane gave his own evaluation. The tough Irishman said that Amorim would have been “disappointed” by what he witnessed and mentioned “big problems.”

“He has serious issues,” Keane said. “There was little danger in the second half, and it appeared as though Ipswich would win.” This season, they haven’t won at home. Although he has only been with Manchester United for a week, he has the same issues there.

“The threat moving forward is a major issue for Manchester United, but you have to give the man a chance.” It is insufficient.

“We saw the team’s structure, but the players and issues remain the same. We discuss leopards and spots: the second half’s lack of goals and poor quality. Ipswich appeared to be the superior squad.

He has had a mental week and has a lot to process because it’s his first game, but in the end, he will be let down. Right now, Manchester United is a mediocre Premier League team. The manager has a big job. I’m hoping he can resolve it.

Current Manchester United news: Mendes, Ronaldo, and Antony
In other news, Man Utd’s pursuit of Nuno Mendes, a left-back for PSG, is expected to fail. This is because the Portuguese, who was once under Amorim’s management at Sporting CP, is ready to sign a new contract in Paris.

In other news, Fabrizio Romano has denied rumors that Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho would reunite at Fenerbahce.

Rather, Ronaldo is negotiating to prolong his Al-Nassr contract, which is set to expire in the summer.

Lastly, according to Turkish media, Besiktas has “decided” that they “will make a loan offer” for Antony during the next winter transfer window.
