Nottingham Forest reach agreement to sign £3k-p/w ace likened to Grealish
Nottingham Forest have finalised a deal for their sixth acquisition of the summer in preparation for the upcoming Premier League season. A medical examination has been scheduled for their newest addition.
Nottingham Forest anticipated to engage in last-minute transactions
Thus far, Nuno Espírito Santo’s team has only incorporated five new individuals into their squad throughout this summer. They have acquired Elliot Anderson from Newcastle United for £35m, and have also secured the services of highly-regarded Serbian defender Nikola Milenkovic as a replacement for Moussa Niakhate, who has transferred to Lyon.
In addition, they have acquired custodian Carlos Miguel from Corinthians, and have also secured the signings of young talents Marko Stamenic and Eric da Silva Moreira from Red Star Belgrade and St Pauli, respectively.
However, it is anticipated that they will continue to be occupied over the upcoming month of the transfer window. According to trustworthy journalist John Percy, they are considering recruiting at least five more individuals.
“Forest intends to make additional signings,” he states, with the “main focus” being “two wingers, a striker, a left-back and another custodian” before the transfer window closes.
There are rumours of a surprising temporary transfer for Arsenal’s second-choice custodian, Aaron Ramsdale, being associated with them. Additionally, it is said that they are preparing to make a formal bid for the talented Brazilian adolescent, Wesley Gassova. Additionally, the club is close to finalising another agreement.
A winger is scheduled to undergo a medical examination at Nottingham Forest.
Portuguese forward Jota Silva is expected to travel to England this week to undergo a medical examination with the Reds, before finalising his transfer to the City Ground.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Nottingham Forest have achieved a “verbal agreement” with Vitoria for a transfer deal. Forest will pay €7m initially, with the possibility of an additional €6m in future add-ons.
The add-ons include a payment of €3 million if he participates in 15 games, and an additional €3 million if he scores 10 goals. Additionally, it is expected that his present weekly salary of £3,000 in Portugal will significantly improve.
At the age of only 24, Silva achieved a total of 11 goals and 7 assists while playing as a right winger in the previous season. His addition to Nuno’s team will enhance their offensive capabilities.
Analyst Ben Mattinson on X described the season as exceptional and compared the player’s style to that of Manchester City’s talented Jack Grealish, who previously played for Aston Villa in the Midlands.
Therefore, it is not unexpected that he has acquired the moniker “Portuguese Jack Grealish” among Vitoria fans, partly due to his habit of wearing low socks and his ability to effortlessly change direction and speed when dribbling. However, he admits that he actually sees parallels with another player from the Premier League.
“I can identify certain similarities between Diogo Jota’s style and my own,” he said to the Guardian. If a deal is successfully completed, he will have the opportunity to compete against both players this season.
