Matthijs de Ligt, the talented player from Bayern Munich, delivers an exhilarating statement in only five words. Update on Manchester United transfers prior to medical examination
Matthijs de Ligt is on the verge of transferring to Manchester United from Bayern for a fee of £38.6 million, but, he is not the sole player making the journey to the UK for medical evaluation.

Before their transfer to Manchester United, Matthijs de Ligt has announced that he and his teammate Noussair Mazraoui are moving to the United Kingdom.

Both defenders, who were employed by Ajax under the management of Erik ten Hag, had two offers totalling £51.5 million authorised by Bayern.

The Red Devils have had a strong desire to get De Ligt, who is 25 years old. He will be joining them as their second centre-back during the summer transfer window, with the first being Lille’s Leny Yoro, who unfortunately got hurt.
Meanwhile, the 26-year-old Mazraoui is poised to offer competition in the full-back positions, as Aaron Wan-Bissaka is expected to join West Ham for a fee of £15m. Both Bayern players departed for Manchester on Monday morning, with De Ligt boarding the private flight after Mazraoui.

“Noussair is anticipating my arrival,” said the Dutch national to the local press at Munich airport.

De Ligt and Mazraoui are scheduled to undergo medical examinations in the near future, as the Red Devils anticipate their availability for the Premier League opening against Fulham on Friday. Ten Hag remained silent on the imminent arrivals of the duo following United’s loss in the Community Shield against Manchester City on Saturday.

“I am unable to provide any updates,” stated the Dutchman after the match. “We will make an announcement when we have news.” Until that juncture, we shall collaborate with the team that is now accessible.

Ten Hag, however, provided an explanation for his strong desire to strengthen his defence, which has been plagued by injuries. “It is evident that we are facing the issues,” he confessed. “We must exert effort, both the players and the staff, in order to be present and ready for work.” Collectively, it is expected to be a fruitful cooperation with the players who are currently accessible.

In a recent interview with Dutch outlet AD Sportwereld, Ten Hag acknowledged Manchester United’s interest in De Ligt. He mentioned that he had expressed interest in signing De Ligt two years ago, but at that time the player was already close to joining Bayern Munich from Juventus. Ten Hag clarified that he was not the one who brought up De Ligt’s name during the process at United.
