CONFIRMED XI: Arteta is hoping to finish his preseason encounter with a victory as Arsenal takes on Liverpool tonight. Calafiori begins in a three-man defence system. This is his “new signing debut.”

The Gunners are currently on a preseason tour of the United States. Their next friendly will be played at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia against local rivals Liverpool. The game is scheduled to begin at 12.30 a.m. BST on August 1. We’ve included our expected Arsenal starting lineup for the match below.

Arsenal’s expected lineup for their third preseason friendly against Liverpool
How Arsenal Is Arranged Lately
Manager Mikel Arteta has chosen to let his young players show off their skills during preseason thus far. Arsenal has played Manchester United and Bournemouth thus far, with players like Ayden Heaven and Ethan Nwaneri making significant appearances. Both games were started by the two youngsters.

Karl Hein has played goalkeeping and has been shielded by a defence that consists of centre backs Jurrien Timber and Heaven. Ben White has performed in his typical role as a right back. Oleksandr Zinchenko took Myles Lewis-Skelly’s place at left-back for the last game, after he had started the Bournemouth match there.

Nwaneri, Jorginho, and captain Martin Odegaard made up the midfield trio. For the United match, Arteta went with Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard in the attacking lineup. Both against Erik ten Hag’s squad and The Cherries, Reiss Nelson—who has lately been connected to West Ham—started from the beginning.

Arsenal’s Current Play and Strategy
After a 1-1 draw in regulation time, Arsenal defeated Bournemouth on penalties (5–4) to win the match. Due to his two penalty kick saves, goalie Hein was instrumental in the victory.

Despite Arsenal’s 2-1 victory against United in the second friendly, the match proceeded to penalties because of an odd regulation that was in place for the preseason games. The shoot-out ended with a victory for the Red Devils.

With Arteta waxing poetic about Heaven during his press conference, the school graduates have been pretty outstanding.

Considerable Arsenal Injuries
Arsenal’s only injury concerns are Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee) and Kieran Tierney (hamstring). It is anticipated that the latter would miss the whole preseason.

Due to their involvement in the Euro 2024 final, David Raya, Aaron Ramsdale, Bukayo Saka, and Declan Rice have been granted an extended vacation. As a result, they will travel with the team to America and will be joined by William Saliba, who participated in the Euro semifinal.

Arsenal’s predicted lineup (4-3-3) is as follows: Thomas Partey (DM), Fabio Vieira (RW), Gabriel Martinelli (LW), Kai Havertz (ST), Jurrien Timber (CB), Gabriel Magalhaes (CB), Jakub Kiwior (LB), Ethan Nwaneri (CM), Martin Odegaard (CM), Fabio Vieira (RB), and Kai Havertz (ST).
