Officially, Manchester United has signed the most significant player in Europe; the salary structure has been authorised; the player will don an iconic jersey number while undergoing a medical examination today.

Based on the most recent media rumours, Erik ten Hag and Mathhijs de Ligt appear to be close to rejoining Man Utd.

Ten Hag is getting closer to a reunion, according to the headline of today’s Daily Record.

Bayern has already turned down a bid from United for the Dutch international, who is thought to be worth approximately £42.9 million.

German international Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen is currently on the verge of joining the Bavarians; however, the deal won’t be finalised until De Ligt is sold.

All of Europe is aware that Bayern Munich needs to “sell” during the summer transfer window, and they might even consider offloading two centre backs, according to today’s edition of Bild.

According to a credible German news source, the Bundesliga powerhouses had originally intended to sell De Ligt to Manchester United or any other club for £42.9 million (50 million euros).

Max Eberl, the sporting director, will now need to “deviate” from the £42.9 million asking price in order to complete the acquisition.

The Community Shield match between Premier League winners Man City and FA Cup winners Manchester United takes place on Saturday. Ten Hag won’t have his star centre back, Leny Yoro, alongside him.

The Dutch manager would like to complete Matthijs de Ligt’s signing with Manchester United as soon as possible, as the French young player will be away for at least a few months.
