Besiktas is off to a fantastic start under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s leadership, and he has already brought one player to new heights despite his relatively short tenure.

The dismissal of Giovanni van Bronckhorst in January led to Solskjaer taking over as manager of Besiktas. This came after Solskjaer had been out of management for a considerable amount of time.

A contract for one and a half years was signed by him with the Turkish giants, and he is already having a significant impact on the club after signing the deal.

By dismantling the club’s current setup with some home truths and the changes he was looking to make across the board, Solskjaer demonstrated an incredible level of honesty from the very beginning of his tenure as manager.

However, he has also been successful on the field, as evidenced by the fact that he has won five of the seven games he has coached, while drawing one and losing one.

The only time they have been defeated was in the Europa League against FC Twente. On Friday night, they defeated Eyupspor on the road by a score of 3-1, which placed them in fourth place in the Turkish Super Lig with 41 points.

There is one player in particular who is flourishing under Solskjaer’s management, and his impact has shown itself almost immediately.

During the time that the Norwegian has been in charge, the attacking midfielder Rafa Silva has scored four goals and provided even more assists.

In the victory that took place on Friday, he not only scored a goal but also registered two assists during an 86-minute performance that earned him a rating of 7.2 on Sofascore.

In the first minute of the match at the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Stadium, Besiktas actually found themselves trailing by a score of 1-0. However, Silva scored an equaliser following a fluid team move that served as an excellent illustration of Solskjaer’s signature style of play.

As a result of Solskjaer’s ability to coax the best performance out of Portuguese players who play the No. 10 position, Bruno Fernandes was able to produce what is considered to be his best work while wearing a United shirt during his time as manager.

Fernandes was acquired by Solskjaer from Sporting for an initial fee of £47 million in March of 2020, and he immediately had a positive impact on United by scoring goals and providing assists.

The work that Solskjaer is doing has been met with a great deal of praise from the Turkish media. One publication even stated that the team has “regained team spirit” under his direction.

Besiktas will return to action on Tuesday when they play Antalyaspor in the Turkish Cup. Shortly after that, on Saturday, March 1, they will play host to Kayserispor in the league.
