Although Mauricio Pochettin is unsure if the club will choose to fire him, he has stated he is getting ready to lead the team the following season. The Chelsea board will evaluate manager Mauricio Pochettino’s first year in charge following the team’s final Premier League match the following week.

Pochettino is nearing recovery from what had been a largely turbulent season for the Blues, with European football now well within reach, but it may not be sufficient for him to be in the dugout next season. He even went so far as to suggest last week that the coaching staff could quit if they weren’t satisfied.

When asked what his plans were going forward, he responded, “We are planning, we are working,” “I always try to be positive and being positive, trying to translate my feelings to you or the people, I never say and I am not thinking in the future, so we cannot take some comments from my side to put in a negative way.

“It is already scheduled. The pre-season schedule, date, and method are all set in stone. Whether or not to be here is not up to me.”
