The match between Manchester United and Southampton ended in a victory for Manchester United, but after the first half, Alejandro Garnacho’s early mistake appeared to have the potential to prove costly for the Red Devils at Old Trafford.

After Alejandro Garnacho, an international player for Argentina, failed to capitalise on a position against Southampton, Rasmus Hojlund let go with a fierce blast in the direction of Garnacho.

With twenty minutes remaining on the clock, the striker for Manchester United was completely taken aback when a teammate of his sliced a shot wide of the goal. The attacker, who is 21 years old, made his way into the penalty area and then pulled the ball back for Garnacho, who was unable to hit the target with the score tied.

As United failed to gain a footing in the game, Hojlund kicked the woodwork before shouting his fury at Garnacho. Television replays showed his frustration as United battled to assert themselves in the game. The Garnacho, who is rumoured to be available for the appropriate price, was the subject of an offer from Napoli, which the Red Devils have unfortunately turned down.

In the meantime, the star player from Denmark, Hojlund, was taken out of the game by Joshua Zirkzee after 53 minutes since he was unable to add to his two goals in the Premier League this season. During a spectacular 12-minute stretch, Amad Diallo was able to outscore him, and his late hat-trick was the decisive factor that led to United’s triumph on Thursday evening.

At Old Trafford, the Saints went into halftime with a one-goal edge thanks to an own goal scored by Manuel Ugarte. Ruben Amorim’s team was outperformed by Southampton in the first half of the match. The game appeared to be heading in the direction of another loss for United at home until Amad scored a goal to recover the situation after 82 minutes had passed.

It was impossible to stop the teenage winger from scoring after that moment, as he went on to score two more goals in the 90th and 94th minutes to end the match with three points. Garnacho was one of the primary protagonists who celebrated with the player who had previously been loaned to Sunderland.

Amorim was not completely satisfied with the way things transpired at the Theatre of Dreams, despite the fact that it was United’s first victory at home since the 1st of December. The head coach, who is 39 years old, was quick to admit that his team has not yet mastered the art of playing with the benefit of being at home.

During an appearance on TNT Sports, Amorim described the situation as follows: “It’s not just tiredness; playing in this stadium, we lost the last three games here.” Because we are attempting to push the opponent in build up, the pressure is different, and you can sense the problems that we are experiencing. After then, Matheus Fernandes between the lines and Tyler Dibling between the lines caused a great deal of trouble, and it was impossible for us to push high at that precise moment.

“That is not something that this squad is accustomed to doing. In such case, there appears to be a lack of excitement. It appears that Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo are both tardy, Bruno is moving outside, and the ball is now within. Next, there is a changeover, and Leny Yoro is unable to capture the individual. Small things like this cause the team to fall behind, and when we don’t have the ball, we start to feel anxious.

It is then that you get the feeling that the team is able to manage the game when you have one click, one goal, and one opportunity. When it comes to my team, I want to be fair. The lack of passion that was present today was not the problem; rather, it was a lack of pace and, at times, a lack of control over the game.
