This summer, the Bundesliga player has been heavily linked to a move to the Premier League.

Red Bull Leipzig has made it clear to Manchester United and Newcastle how much it will cost to get Benjamin Sesko, a key target, this summer.

Newcastle United is in severe need of a new striker before the 2025–2026 season begins, as sources indicate that Alexander Isak may depart to join Liverpool this summer.

Hugo Ekitike, Yoane Wissa, and Rodrigo Muniz are among the forwards who have been linked to a move to St James’ Park; however, it seems that Eddie Howe’s prime target is Sesko of RB Leipzig.

It appeared nearly inevitable that the Slovenian international would join the Magpies after days of rumours, but United unexpectedly tried to sabotage the deal.

Leipzig can afford to allow the two teams vying for Sesko’s services to compete, and they have said clearly how much they hope to get in exchange for a transfer.

Sesko is the top target up front for both Newcastle and United this summer, according to a recent report from transfer specialist David Ornstein for The Athletic.

Leipzig has made the decision to inform both clubs of their requests in light of this, claiming that they anticipate receiving a bid of €75 million (£64.8) plus add-ons and a part of the sale.

Leipzig may obviously raise the price to secure the best potential trade for their top player, since two clubs are interested in the 22-year-old.

Additionally, Leipzig may take their time evaluating any incoming offers because Sesko signed a new contract last year, extending his existing term until 2029.

But according to reports, when he signed his new contract, Leipzig promised to let him leave the team if an offer in the range of €80 million to €90 million (£69 million to £78 million) was made.

This summer, who else has Manchester United been connected to?
Ruben Amorim reportedly admires Aston Villa attacker Ollie Watkins, who scored 16 Premier League goals the previous season, in addition to Sesko.

It is thought that a deal for Watkins will become United’s primary priority before the transfer window closes on September 1 if they are unable to get their top target this summer.

According to The Athletic, they are presently considering signing both strikers this summer, even if they are successful in bringing Sesko to Old Trafford.

However, after first declaring that the Englishman was not for sale, it is now thought that Villa may be seeking a sum of over £60 million, so a deal for Watkins might not be simple.
