David de Gea is actively seeking a new football club and there have been reports connecting him to a team in the Serie A.
It occurred subsequent to his departure from Manchester United last summer due to a contractual dispute.
David De Gea, the former custodian of Manchester United, is now without a club, despite his departure from the Red Devils in July of last year.
Following a 12-year tenure at Old Trafford, the 33-year-old goalkeeper expressed that it was the opportune moment to embark on a fresh endeavour, leading to his departure from the Red Devils.
United conducted in-person discussions with the Spanish custodian, since Erik ten Hag’s lack of confidence in the shot-stopper was one of the reasons for his departure.

De Gea became a member of United in 2011 for a fee of £18.9 million. His contract ended last season, and United was hesitant to fulfil his requests for a new agreement.

Amid his contract dispute with Manchester United, the Spaniard married his long-term lover Edurne Garcia. Shortly after their wedding, De Gea announced his departure from the club

It has been a year since the custodian departed from the club, and he has not yet secured a new club, despite being heavily associated with a potential transfer to the Italian club Genoa.

However, it seems that the proposed transfer has since fallen through, as De Gea’s salary expectations are deemed impractical by Sky Sports.

However, it seems that his salary expectations are the main problem. According to TEAMtalk, De Gea, who has played 545 matches for Manchester United and achieved 190 clean sheets, is seeking a contract that would pay him an impressive £5 million annually.

According to the news outlet, this would result in him earning more than £80,000 a week based on his wage demands.

De Gea was among the top earners at Manchester United, earning a remarkable £375,000 a week. However, he declined a new contract offer from the club in July 2023.

The 33-year-old has been associated with various teams, including Saudi Pro League Side Al-Shabab, while there have also been rumours of Newcastle’s interest.

According to TEAMtalk, De Gea has recently been associated with a transfer to Fiorentina, a team in Serie A. According to reports, Fiorentina recently approached De Gea, but his salary requirements were deemed inadequate.

The custodian was allegedly willing to return to Manchester United, despite the fact that they had already recruited Andre Onana the previous season. Additionally, Inter Milan apparently expressed interest in signing him as a replacement for the Cameroonian.

As reported by the Daily Record, the Italian club was prepared to propose a contract worth almost £4 million annually.

De Gea is believed to have a strong desire to go back to Spain, and both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have shown interest in signing him as a custodian.

The goalkeeper’s exit from Manchester United coincided with his receipt of the Premier League’s Golden Glove trophy for the 2022-23 season.

United declared in a statement that although the goalie was in negotiations with the team for a new contract, he will ultimately go in July.

Although David De Gea’s contract is about to expire, talks with the seasoned custodian are still open, according to United.

It happened during a lacklustre season for the United goalkeeper, who committed multiple mistakes, most notably in matches against West Ham and Manchester City. He was also responsible for Ilkay Gundogan’s game-winning goal in the FA Cup final against United’s city rivals. But De Gea, 33, is looking for a new team, and keen-eyed supporters have noticed the goalie back in training while he looks for a contract extension.
