Ruben Amorim Invites Man Utd Wonderkid to First-Team Training for First Time

Manchester United face Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday, and a wonderkid has taken part in first-team training.

Ruben Amorim welcomed a Manchester United wonderkid to join first-team training for the first time ahead of the weekend’s game against Brighton.

On Sunday, United defeated archrivals Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield, giving the Portuguese manager his first back-to-back victory at the club.

They return to Old Trafford on Saturday to face Brighton & Hove Albion, seeking to build on their triumph.

The first squad participated in an 11-versus-11 training match on Thursday, with the goal of keeping some of United’s fringe players up to speed.

JJ Gabriel, 15, was among those hauled in for the contest.

The child is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in United’s academy, with some calling him the ‘next Neymar’.

Last summer, United battled to keep him, but were able to persuade him to stay, in part by providing him a path to the first team.

Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada are both believed to have communicated with the footballer to convince him to stay in Manchester.

With another chance to poach youth youngsters when he becomes 16, the club must guarantee Gabriel is satisfied with his progress over the following two years.

This season, he has moved up to play for United’s U18 team, where he has thrived, scoring seven goals and assisting once in six games.

Although the team is concerned about Gabriel getting too much attention at such a young age, there is no denying his exceptional talent.

According to the Manchester Evening News, some at United believe he has the potential to be the best player the academy has produced.

They also believe Amorim and Gabriel met last month.

During the discussion, the head coach spoke about his philosophy and the value of hard effort, using Cristiano Ronaldo as an example.

Gabriel’s ability has also piqued commercial interest, with Nike competing with Adidas to sign the teenager.

Despite his talent, Gabriel will have to wait until at least next year to make his Premier League debut, as Premier League regulations state that players can only play for the first squad in the season they turn 16.

Gabriel turned 15 earlier this month, so Amorim’s attention will be on winning a third consecutive win against Brighton.

In recent years, United has found it difficult to beat the Seagulls, who have won four of their previous five games.

After Brighton’s 3-1 victory at Old Trafford last year, Amorim labeled his players as’maybe the worst’ in United’s history.

Although United has improved this season, owing primarily to the additions of Senne Lammens, Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Benjamin Sesko, it promises to be a difficult challenge.
