Ruben Amorim makes special request to Man Utd chiefs after Ed Sheeran controversy
Ruben Amorim has made fun of how much time he’s spent with the press in his first week as Manchester United manager. He wants to spend more time with his players and less time with the press.
After being in a lot of interviews in his first week as manager of Manchester United, Ruben Amorim will ask the club’s leaders to cut down on the length of his interviews.
First, the new boss talked to the press before the game at Ipswich. He also did a one-on-one chat with Gary Neville on Sky Sports. He also did what he always does for the media after the draw at Portman Road, which was to talk to television and print media.
Ed Sheeran, who is a huge Ipswich fan, cut into his post-game interview on Sky Sports in the middle. The music superstar was criticized for doing this. Not long after that, Amorim’s tasks with the media ended on Sunday night.
In a joke, Amorim said that he had talked to more people in a week in Manchester than he did in four years at Sporting Lisbon. He wants to spend more time with his players by spending less time dealing with the press. He told them, “I talked to the press more this week than I did in my four years at Sporting.” I only want to work with my team. Not anything else.”
It is known that Amorim will ask United’s marketing department to cut down on requests so that he can focus on training the team. The 39-year-old manager has quickly put in place his 3-4-3 system, which was very successful for him at Sporting. However, many of his United players are not used to it yet, and more time on the training pitch will help them get used to it.
Even though Marcus Rashford scored the first goal and put his team ahead early, they were tied at Ipswich, and Amorim was quick to point out the mistakes his team made. The new manager of United said that some of their mistakes were caused by thinking too much. Their next game is this Thursday in the Europa League.
“I believe my team was thinking too much,” he said. It wasn’t hard, but we lost some balls. They tried really hard, though, and they want this.
The game is tough. That’s the first thing you learn. My team thought too much during the game. You can feel it. They should be on the ball and where they should be. That’s tough. It’s really hard to only be with the team for two days. The first half could have used more aggressive play.
“The game is tough; we lost some balls without being under a lot of pressure.” You are in charge of the ball and the speed of the game. They tried really hard but failed. They want this so badly and are working hard to get it. We need to try from the start, deal with the new idea, and try to do better next year at the same point.
