Ruben Amorim spots worrying trend in Man Utd team after just 90 minutes of football under him and every player is guilty
After only 90 minutes of football under his leadership, Ruben Amorim notices a concerning tendency in the Manchester United team, and every player is at fault.
In his debut game as manager of Manchester United, Ruben Amorim led the team against Ipswich Town.
After drawing his first game as manager of Manchester United against Ipswich Town, new manager Ruben Amorim has identified a concerning trend.
Marcus Rashford’s goal in the second minute was cancelled out by a long-range attempt from Omari Hutchinson, resulting in a 1-1 tie for the newly promoted team, ending Amorim’s debut as the Red Devils’ new head coach.
In actuality, United goalie Andre Onana made a number of excellent saves that would have allowed the home team to win.
Because of the outcome, United remains in the bottom half of the Premier League standings, sitting in 12th place, 15 points behind leaders Liverpool.
After the game, Amorim expressed his satisfaction with the players’ application, but he did point out one area in which he was not quite happy.
To ‘cope’ with training instructions, the 39-year-old said that his players were ‘thinking too much’ during the game.
“The main point is that they tried to do it,” Amorim stated. They made an effort, but we still have a long way to go. The first and most crucial aspect is this.
“They were trying to process everything we said in training, so they were thinking too much during the game. However, there were only two trainings.
He went on: “Onana made some excellent stops, but we could win this game. Playing in this league is always difficult, but we will get better over time. In one squad, a goalie is crucial. Onana was there for us when we needed her.
“He was excellent with the ball. Andre had a fantastic game because he sought to connect rather than always using long balls.
Amorim has expressed his desire to make the most of every training moment in order to instill the new style of play in his team.
“That is the goal [to use the time on the training pitch],” the Portuguese continued. Every minute must be used to collaborate with the team. This timetable requires everyone to play, and we will.
“Everyone will participate… We must all work together to create strategies for winning games, winning time, and strengthening the team.
Amorim will experience managing at Old Trafford for the first time on Thursday when United plays Bodo/Glimt of Norway in the UEFA Europa League.
