Scottish television presenter Eilidh Barbour angrily responded to Kris Boyd’s allegation regarding Celtic F.C.’s 32-year-old captain Callum McGregor.

Callum McGregor is set to be the first man on the Celtic squad sheet. McGregor may be used by any coach, including Ange Postecoglou and Brendan Rodgers.

He is equally vital to the squad as everyone else. So, one of Celtic’s most prominent players is taking on the position of leader, and he expects to do so for many years.

McGregor is 32 years old and realizes that his best years are coming to an end. Fortunately, he stopped playing for Scotland to make those years endure longer.

“All of us have played with players who set great examples every day,” Boyd said of McGregor. “That probably means training right, coming in first, and leaving the building last.” He is doing everything correctly, which allows him to perform at the top level every week. For me, it would be Callum McGregor right now, and I am sure many would wonder, “What are you talking about?” However, his physique is programmed to play three games every week, which he has done.

He’s clearly moved away from Scotland now. “He will have to get used to having those long breaks.” Because he has played so many games, this can generate problems on its own. With players like Scott Brown, I’m sure Brendan Rodgers hopes the opposite happens.

As Eilidh Barbour stated, “He has scored more goals since he stopped playing for Scotland.” Boyd replied: “I was about to go there.” These days, you have to consider how his game has evolved in different aspects. I assume this is due to teams playing Celtic.
