The FA Cup quarterfinals are this weekend, and Arsenal is not playing in the Premier League, so Mikel Arteta and the rest of the team are taking a lengthy international break.

Arsenal’s early start to their international break means they won’t be participating in the Premier League this weekend.

Tuesday night’s match was the Gunners’ final outing in the Champions League, where they lost to Porto in the second half. Arsenal had won 1-0 the previous evening, so extra time and penalties were used in the match. David Raya, the goalkeeper, won the penalty shootout with two saves.

Arsenal defeated Porto to advance to the Champions League quarterfinals, where they will take on Bayern Munich. Arsenal would play either Real Madrid or Manchester City in the semifinals if they defeated the top teams in the Bundesliga.

This weekend’s Premier League match between Arsenal and Chelsea was initially scheduled. However, that game has been canceled, so the Gunners won’t be playing for at least two weeks.

The matchup with Chelsea had to be postponed due to their involvement in the FA Cup. Chelsea’s quarterfinal matchup with Leicester City takes place at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. This implies that a new date will need to be set for the match against Arsenal.

This weekend still has a few Premier League games. The match between Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham will take place at Craven Cottage because neither team is competing in the FA Cup this year.

On April 9 and 17, Liverpool and Bayern Munich will square off in the Champions League quarterfinals. They are unable to participate in the rescheduled game against Chelsea because they have a Premier League match against Luton Town in the middle of the week on April 3.

The Champions League semi-finals will take place on April 30 or May 1 and May 7 or 8, assuming Arsenal defeats Bayern Munich. As a result, assuming the match is postponed until before the games against Bayern Munich, the most likely weeks for Arsenal to play Chelsea are either the middle of the week beginning April 21 or May 13.
