“They always score so many goals anytime he start but I don’t why Arteta is finding it difficult to start him…This kid is talented but Arteta isn’t seeing it, we’ll go for him in January”: Man city coach Pep Guardiola says he’s not happy with Arteta’s decision to always bench a super-talented youngster, wows to sign him in January

Paul Merson, a stalwart of the Gunners, has heaped praise on Arsenal wonderkid Ethan Nwaneri after being genuinely pleased by his performance in yesterday’s victory against Nottingham Forest.

With his current performances for Arsenal, Nwaneri, who is only 17 years old, is shown incredible promise, and it appears certain that he will soon be starting more games for Mikel Arteta’s team.

Nwaneri will have to settle with the occasional cameo off the bench or an appearance in cup competitions for the time being, but Arteta will find it increasingly difficult to keep the teenager out of his starting lineup.

Nwaneri was brought in as a substitute in yesterday’s 3-0 victory over Forest. He broke into the box late in the game to add the third goal, and he shown some true talent on the ball.

While praising Arsenal’s overall performance, Merson focused on Nwaneri in his analysis, highlighting the England youth international’s skill.

Paul Merson praised Ethan Nwaneri highly.

According to the Metro, Merson stated on Sky Sports: “And then Nwaneri… That 17-year-old boy has a lot of potential and achieves a terrific objective.

“They had to win, so they displayed some armor before taking a little break to prepare for midweek.”

Merson understands what it takes to play in the aggressive midfield department for the north London giants because he was a standout player for Arsenal in his day.

Nwaneri is obviously unique, and he intends to continue taking advantage of the few first-team opportunities that he is receiving.

With Nwaneri joining Bukayo Saka as a homegrown star with potentially genuine world class potential and other kids like Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson looking like reliable Premier League players, Arsenal’s academy is now producing some genuinely good players.
