Trent Alexander-Arnold’s Brother Unleashes Liverpool Rant After Man Utd Went 2-1 Up

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s brother has gone viral after his comments after Liverpool’s 2-1 loss to Manchester United on Sunday afternoon. The Premier League champions are now on a four-game losing streak after losing to the Red Devils at Anfield for the first time in nine years, their worst record in all competitions since November 2014 under Brendan Rodgers.

What were once dismissed as minor hiccups now appear considerably more serious, as Arne Slot and his teammates struggle to recover the form that propelled them to the league title last season. The shortcomings at full-back have been especially devastating, with Matthijs de Ligt disclosing that United deliberately targeted that weakness to gain an edge.

Nobody on Merseyside expected to miss Trent as much as they do, with neither of the full-backs signed this summer performing well. Gary Lineker believes Mohamed Salah is also struggling without the star right-back, as the Real Madrid player is now benched at his new club and appears to have no clear path back into the England group ahead of the World Cup.

Last season, there was a sense that Trent had grown disconnected from his boyhood club, and that much of the covert manoeuvring that saw him “leave out the back door,” so to speak, was influenced by his brother Tyler, who also works as his agent. Many thought they were chasing the glitz of Madrid, but Trent’s younger brother Marcell’s latest diatribe may have shown that the family still feels greatly about the Reds. He said (watch the entire diatribe below):

“Whatever happened to our team!? It hasn’t happened in 38 years that a team won the league and then lost four consecutive games! After 38 f****** years, we’re losing to Manchester United to put the cherry on top. What has happened to our team? It cannot continue like way. It’s a f****** joke, and if you’re not outraged, you’re not interested in this club.”

Naturally, Liverpool fans in the comments section were quick to condemn his usage of “our” and question his alleged loyalty to the club, given his other brother’s role in Trent’s decision to leave. However, if Anfield supporters were given the opportunity to re-sign the right-back right now, they would probably eat your hand off.

Jeremie Frimpong remains overly aggressive, while Conor Bradley’s recklessness has become a significant talking point in recent weeks, particularly after he was hooked before halftime during the 2-1 loss to Chelsea. Trent appears to strike the perfect balance between the two, and he, like Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota, is dearly missed at Anfield as the champions’ growing pains take their toll.
