UPDATE: Chelsea move to finalise Victor Osimhen deal in swap deal with Napoli

As Romelu Lukaku is being mentioned as part of the deal, the Blues are interested in the Nigerian striker; however, his wages may prove to be a barrier to an agreement between the two clubs.

The specific composition of Victor Osimhen’s prospective compensation package is still being discussed between Chelsea and Osimhen at this time.

It is possible that the transfer, which also involves Romelu Lukaku going to Napoli, will continue until the final week of the transfer window due to the presence of multiple layers in the trade.

Additionally, there is still the possibility that the transaction will be a loan with an option to purchase thereafter.

As things stand, the two clubs are getting close to reaching an agreement on a deal that would be beneficial to both parties and would involve the exchange of prominent strikers.

The enormous salaries that Osimhen is receiving, which were largely agreed upon as part of a new arrangement to secure a greater fee this summer, are beyond Napoli’s financial means

.

Chelsea is one of the few clubs who are willing to pay money on a top No. 9 player who also has commercial appeal, and as a result, they are more than willing to get the Nigerian player.

In addition, this may prove to be advantageous because they have been looking to get rid of Lukaku for a considerable amount of time, and the new manager of Napoli, Antonio Conte, considers the Belgian to be his ideal forward after having worked with him in the past.

Osimhen and his camp are holding out for the €12 million net that they believe they should receive from Napoli, despite the fact that practically everything is agreed upon, particularly with regard to Lukaku.

The Chelsea Football Club is willing to make some adjustments to their otherwise rigid wage structure in order to accommodate a “star” player like the 25-year-old player. They are aware that this is necessary in order to increase the commercial appeal of the club.

In spite of this, the discussions have been going on for such a long time because of what are being referred to as “complex” conversations regarding the manner in which his salary will be structured.

It is stated that Chelsea’s attitude to such contracts has changed over the course of the time that Clearlake Capital has held the primary ownership of the club. Additionally, the composition of these arrangements is said to be more complex than that of competing clauses.

An agreement similar to the one that Osimhen made would include a wide variety of conditional conditions, as well as provisions and bonuses that are associated with image rights.

Despite the fact that there is still a perception in the market that a deal will be reached, there is still a great deal that needs to be resolved.

As of right now, it is anticipated that Lukaku will be transferred to Napoli on a permanent basis, while Osimhen will initially be a loan player.
