Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou aims to acquire a striker as part of his team’s reconstruction this summer and has been closely monitoring Pedro Neto of Wolverhampton Wanderers, who is also being pursued by Arsenal.

According to Football Transfers, the Lilywhites have increased their attempts to acquire the signing of the Portuguese international. However, they will need to outperform Arsenal in order to get his signature.

Arsenal has expressed a strong interest in acquiring Neto, as stated in the article. This is part of Mikel Arteta’s search for a right winger to provide more assistance to Bukayo Saka.

Nevertheless, Tottenham is aiming to outdo the Gunners in securing the Wolves star, following their unsuccessful attempt to acquire Crystal Palace’s talented player, Eberechi Eze.

Although Palace and Eze have informally agreed to part ways this summer, it is reported that Spurs are hesitant to meet his approximate valuation of £60 million.

Neto, on the other hand, is considered a more cost-effective option, given his Transfermarkt valuation of £46 million.

Tottenham and Arsenal are competing for the acquisition of Neto.
Neto is likely to be transferred to one of the best teams in the Premier League due to his exceptional performance for Wolves. In spite of minor injuries, he achieved a total of three goals and contributed to 11 assists in the highest level of English football during the previous season.

There has been less discussion regarding Liverpool’s and Manchester City’s interest in Neto, suggesting that the competition for his signing this summer may mostly include Arsenal and Tottenham.

Neto is expected to serve as a secondary choice for both clubs, primarily utilised as a squad player rather than a guaranteed starter in the first team.

At Tottenham, he is expected to serve as a substitute for Dejan Kulusevski, while at Arsenal, he will have to contend with Saka for a starting position. Thus, the latter choice may be more appealing to him than the former.

Arsenal has excessively relied on Saka due to a scarcity of high-quality alternatives, so Arteta will be eager to provide the English international with more rest if he succeeds in enticing Neto to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal is anticipated to be a strong contender in the Premier League for the 2024/25 season and will also participate in the prestigious Champions League. These ambitious sporting prospects may sway Neto to choose Arsenal over Spurs.

Wolves will require a substantial payment in order to release the 24-year-old player. However, it is uncertain how much this amount will differ from his valuation of £46 million on Transfermarkt.
