Vaclav Cerny in shock Celtic transfer tout as ace backed to swap Rangers water bottle infamy for Hoops stardom

He has previously enraged Celtic fans, yet the former Rangers player continues to receive Parkhead support.
The possibility of former Rangers striker Vaclav Cerny returning to Scotland, namely with CELTIC, has ignited debate on the airways.

The Czech winger thrived at Ibrox after joining on loan from Wolfsburg last summer, and Billy Dodds, who was on the interim coaching staff for the second half of season 24/25, said he was open to staying in Glasgow. Rangers have subsequently added Djeidi Gassama and Oliver Antman on the flanks, while Celtic are in need of depth out wide, with Jota sidelined for the long term and Nicolas Kuhn moving to Como.

That has sparked speculation on Go Radio that Cerny could make the ultimate U-turn by switching colours in Glasgow. He outraged some Celtic fans last season by squirting the contents of a water bottle at home fans while running up the touchline following Hamza Igamane’s late victory, but it hasn’t stopped the argument.

Vaclav Cerny’s Celtic tip
Host Paul Cooney began the conversation by saying, “We’re speaking with a few people who are interested in Vaclav Cerny, who is popular among Rangers supporters. There were suggestions that Celtic should go after him, but I don’t think that was going to happen, after the water bottle.”

Dodds responded, “I don’t believe it was the fan probably next to the dugouts who asked Celtic to sign him! I loved him. He had quality, explosive bursts, and a skill set. He scored some spectacular goals. He was a standout player for Rangers and will be sorely missed. They’ve got Gassama and Ant Man. That has made Rangers fans happier, but I still don’t think they are on the same level as Vash, who was a top player.

“I believe he might have stayed at Rangers, you know. I believe he wanted to. I believe that the manner he spoke to us indicated that he intended to settle. He mentioned it to me. He answered, ‘I’ve done this going about on loan here, there, and everywhere. He mentioned he wanted to settle somewhere, and I assumed he was heading to Turkey, but it appears he’ll stay in Wolfsburg.

Why would Vaclav Cerny work for Celtic?
“I enjoyed working with him because he made me excited. He only needed his football brain and the tempo. You have players like that, with that sophisticated but energetic style, and you just adore seeing them train. I walked by individuals as if they were not there.”

Celtic icon Peter Grant is ready to put the past behind him, believing the winger, who scored 18 goals and assisted nine others, would handle such a move. Grant stated, “I genuinely loved him, and he demonstrated that he had a bottle. He could perform in front of Rangers fans. When things weren’t going well, he took the ball. I know he gave them a bit at times, and I’m sure Celtic fans would have gotten into him if he’d come to Celtic Park.

Things happen. You know what you do with opposing supporters when you play? You wind them up and attempt anything. There is absolutely no doubt. That is part of the game. There is too much of it coming out of it. You’re not talking about somebody throwing something or hitting someone with something. You know, just having some fun or something. “But he could play.”
