It has been reported that Kobbie Mainoo is now in negotiations for a new lucrative contract with Manchester United. If he receives a wage rise, he may take his place among the highest-paid players at Old Trafford.

Kobbie Mainoo, a rising star in the midfield for Manchester United, has the potential to become the club’s joint-fifth highest earner in the near future.

According to reports, the club has reportedly reached a contract impasse with the representatives of Mainoo, who are requesting an astounding £200,000 per week throughout the new term that he is negotiating. As a result of allegations that Manchester United may be required to sell indigenous talent in order to ensure that they are in compliance with the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), Chelsea is supposedly waiting in the wings.

The 19-year-old player, who is under contract with the club until 2027, was one of United’s most impressive players during the previous season under the direction of Erik ten Hag. He also scored a goal that was essential to United’s victory against Manchester City in the FA Cup final. In the early stages of this term, there are indications that Mainoo may become a vital part of the team as new manager Ruben Amorim installs his system at West Ham United.

The purported demands made by Mainoo are indicative of his desire to secure a contract that appropriately reflects his standing as a regular member of the first squad and member of the England national team. Mirror Football examines how the young star’s projected compensation would compare to the Red Devils’ roster of top-paid stars in light of the fact that the young star is requesting such a huge wage.

At the moment, Casemiro is United’s highest earner, as the Brazilian player brings home an astounding three hundred and fifty thousand pounds per week. The soon-to-be 33-year-old has shown glimpses of the brilliance he displayed during his trophy-filled Real Madrid tenure; nevertheless, there are still questions over whether or not he has the legs to prosper in Amorim’s system.

Despite the fact that his contract is slated to expire in June 2026, he continues to bring in an annual salary of little less than twenty million pounds. Bruno Fernandes, the captain of Manchester United, and Marcus Rashford, whose future at the club is also in question in January due to rumours that he is being linked to AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund, are currently trailing Casemiro.

Mason Mount is currently United’s fourth-highest earner. He was acquired from Chelsea in 2023 for a fee of £55 million and signed a five-year contract. United, on the other hand, has not yet seen a significant return on their investment, while Mount receives a weekly salary of £250,000.

The England international has continued to struggle with injuries, as evidenced by the fact that he only made 20 appearances and scored one goal in his first season of professional football. This season, he has made a total of twelve appearances for the club, but he has only played for the team for a half-hour.

Assuming that Mainoo’s demands are satisfied, he would join Antony, who was acquired for £86 million, as the fifth-highest earner at the club, earning £200,000 a week. Many people believe that Antony is one of the worst signings in United’s history. Although he is currently bound to a five-year contract, there are rumours that the club is considering releasing him in January. This is because the club is considering reducing their losses.

The summer acquisitions Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, who were brought in by Amorim’s predecessor, Erik ten Hag, are currently earning a weekly salary of £135,000 and an additional £125,000, respectively. In the meantime, former skipper Harry Maguire, who recently activated an option in his contract to extend his stay by one year, is reportedly earning a weekly salary of 189,000 pounds.

The next two individuals, Christian Eriksen and Luke Shaw, who is rarely seen, each receive weekly salary of one hundred fifty thousand pounds. While all is going on, it has been revealed that Manuel Ugarte, Andre Onana, Lisandro Martinez, and Victor Lindelof are each bringing home a weekly salary of 120 thousand pounds.

Although it is undeniable that Amad Diallo has been United’s most outstanding performance under Amorim’s leadership, the 22-year-old is only paid a far more modest remuneration of just £28,000 per week. On the other hand, similar to Mainoo, it is anticipated that the Ivorian would sign a new long-term contract over the next few weeks as the Amorim’s rebuilding process picks up speed.
