PSG coach Luis Enrique exposes the ONE poor choice that Arteta made during their trip to the United Arab Emirates. “Even though they won, if Arteta continues playing him out of position like this, they will definitely lose the title to City again.”

Arsenal defeated Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 at the Emirates in the Champions League today by taking advantage of two mistakes made by Gianluigi Donnarumma in goal.

Mikel Arteta’s team secured their first Champions League victory of the new season thanks to goals in the first half from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka.

In a close match with little chances generated by either club, set pieces were crucial once more. Both goals for Arsenal came from crosses that were wide of the mark.

After 20 minutes, Havertz took the lead thanks to a brilliant cross from Leandro Trossard, but Donnarumma’s mistake allowed the German to score more easily as he raced out without getting close to the ball.

Fifteen minutes later, Saka’s free kick passed between everyone in the box and past PSG’s number one, down the middle of the goal, as Arsenal added a second goal just before halftime.

Even though PSG had the majority of the possession in the first half, their full-backs, Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi, both missed close range, and the visitors found it difficult to get back into the game.

The failure to score a third goal left PSG vulnerable to a comeback, and halfway through the half, Joao Neves struck the crossbar with a corner kick. Gabriel Martinelli had a chance to put the game beyond PSG early in the second half, but he fired straight at Donnarumma.

Luis Enrique’s team has only scored once in the UCL this season, an own goal against Girona, but Arsenal, who have one of the best defenses in Europe, easily handled the PSG threat to preserve another clean sheet.

When Trossard’s clever cross finds its way behind the PSG defense, Donnarumma is forced to break through to the ball, but Havertz beats him to it and heads into the open goal to give Arsenal the lead! The Italian is stuck in a no-man’s land!

Saka’s goal vs PSG (Arsenal 2-0 PSG, 35th minute)

Saka drills in a low, right-wing, left-footed cross that eludes everyone in the vicinity, including goalie Donnarumma, who watches as the ball flies by him and straight into the net following the free kick.

In addition to scoring the first goal of the game, Havertz demonstrated why the Gunners no longer need to recruit a central striker by masterfully executing Arsenal’s high press, which caused a torrid night for the PSG defense.
