According to Football Insider, Manchester United has set their sights on Dusan Vlahovic as a possible summer acquisition. With a major connection to United manager Ruben Amorim from their time at Sporting CP, the Serbian striker, who is currently at Juventus, has emerged as a strong alternative to Viktor Gyokeres.

Struggles in the Striking Department at United
There is an urgent need for reinforcements because United’s onslaught has stalled in recent months. Marcus Rashford has been benched in recent games despite having a strong start under Amorim, raising questions about his consistency. Joshua Zirkzee, who was signed in the summer, has only scored three goals in 21 games, which is significantly less than what is anticipated at this level. Rasmus Hojlund, however, has had a season characterized by inconsistency, scoring five Premier League goals so far but going extended stretches without scoring.

United has expanded their search for a top-tier No. 9 due to the absence of firepower. Vlahovic is thought to be a reachable target because of his Juventus contract, which expires in 2026. If Juventus is unable to guarantee his long-term future, a low-cost deal might be imminent.

Vlahovic: One of Europe’s Top Strikers Alongside players like Victor Osimhen, Alexander Isak, and the previously mentioned Gyokeres, Vlahovic is known for being one of the continent’s most sought-after attackers. He has demonstrated his ability to score goals at Juventus in a muscular yet technically sophisticated manner that would withstand the demands of Premier League play.

Crucially, Amorim’s position on United’s shortlist demonstrates his dedication to improving the team’s offensive alternatives. Because of their previous partnership, Gyokeres might still be the manager’s first choice, but Vlahovic presents a seductive combination of strength, talent, and finishing ability that might help United regain their competitive edge.

Our Opinion
For Man United supporters, the connection to Dusan Vlahovic must evoke conflicting feelings. On the one hand, supporters are excited for Amorim’s dynamic approach to be complemented by the addition of a top striker. Vlahovic’s power and technical skill seem to be a good fit for the physical demands of the Premier League, and his track record at Juventus lends credence to his candidacy.

Nonetheless, the club’s difficulties in completing high-profile moves in recent years continue to be frustrating. Arsenal’s alleged interest only makes things more difficult because United’s competitors have shown initiative in acquiring elite players. There might be a sense of urgency among supporters—if Vlahovic is indeed available, United’s leadership needs to take immediate action to prevent them from losing out.

Furthermore, there are still concerns about Amorim’s partiality for Viktor Gyokeres, who has a special bond with the manager. Although there is no denying Gyokeres’ prolific form, some may contend that Vlahovic is a more polished alternative. The club’s transfer strategy is made more anxious by the possibility of having to settle for a secondary goal because of competing bids or technical difficulties.

In the end, United needs to address their attacking shortcomings with a player of Vlahovic’s caliber if they are to regain their position as a dominant force. The success of their summer transfer window will probably depend on their ability to outmaneuver Arsenal and other suitors.
