Even though I like Manchester United, I will never return to the team unless we can agree that they will let go of this specific player before I arrive. Jadon Sancho discloses the one requirement that would force him to return to Old Trafford by January in order to assist Amorim in reversing the current circumstance.

Despite Chelsea’s commitment to acquire the winger next summer, Jadon Sancho may rejoin Manchester United for the upcoming campaign—but only if the Blues don’t place in the top 14.

After a protracted delay, Sancho’s loan move to Chelsea was finally announced on Saturday night. The England international was given the No. 19 shirt at Stamford Bridge after finally securing a move away from Old Trafford.

The player will cost Chelsea between £20 million and £25 million next season, but an odd clause in the agreement with United may allow the Blues to avoid having to buy him.

That condition would only take effect, though, if Chelsea had a terrible season and finished worse than 14th in the Premier League standings, according to the Telegraph.

Following the change from owner Roman Abramovich to new manager Todd Boehly, Chelsea has struggled in recent years. The American manager has failed to duplicate the Russian’s success after watching the team’s erratic performances under managers Graham Potter and Mauricio Pochettino, as the team finished sixth last season and 12th in 2022–2023 respectively.

After spending almost £220 million on 11 acquisitions throughout the summer, including the loan of Sancho, the Blues are now trying to start again under their new manager Enzo Maresca. Other high-profile recruits include Pedro Neto for £51 million, Joao Felix for £44 million, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for £30 million.

Speaking about his desire to become the newest member of the Bridge, Sancho stated that he hoped to emulate some of the Chelsea greats that he had grown up admiring.

“It’s been a little crazy,” he said on the official club website. “Obviously, there was going to be some chaos because it was the last day of the transfer window, but I’m glad it’s all over now.

“Chelsea is recognizable.” Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba were my childhood heroes, and I now get to play for this team just like them. It’s a wonderful sensation.

He went on to say that Maresca was the one who lured him to the team since he had met him when he was a young player at Manchester City and was eager to see his appealing style of play.
