Pep Guardiola reveals what he told Man City star Stefan Ortega in heated moment

After Manchester City experienced a late collapse and ended up drawing 2-2 with Brentford, Pep Guardiola has stated that he did not react aggressively when he reprimanded Stefan Ortega, the custodian for Manchester City.
Guardiola, the manager of City, was seen becoming excited while speaking to Ortega only a few seconds after the final whistle blew, and cameras were able to capture the event that took place on the pitch. In light of the fact that City was leading by a score of 2-0 heading into the last ten minutes of the match, many soon speculated that Guardiola was dissatisfied with his starter.
A late goal scored by Yoane Wissa of Brentford and Christian Norgaard of Brentford changed the course of the match. Bryan Mbeumo even had a chance to win it for the home team in the extra time that was played. Guardiola was quite upset, and he made his way onto the field to shake hands with the players from Brentford as well as the referees who were in charge of the game. After that, he became angry with Ortega, who was awarded a significant portion of Norgaard’s goals.
However, according to Guardiola, he was really applauding the German player in addition to the defender Josko Gvardiol, who was also given a talking-to. The Spaniard provided the following explanation after the match: “[Gvardiol] performed amazing! I was content with it! Similarly, [Ortega] is the same.
“I said how good he played, the actions with the ball, the pass to Erling [Haaland], how happy and satisfied I am, especially with these two players and what they have done…”
There have been other instances in which Guardiola has appeared agitated while simultaneously complimenting one of his players in front of the entire stadium at the conclusion of the game. In March of 2016, he appeared to be condemning Joshua Kimmich, a midfielder for Bayern Munich, at the conclusion of their match against Borussia Dortmund, which ended in a scoreless tie. However, he later clarified that he was just praising the young player’s performance.
It looks that Ortega will continue to play for City when they travel to play Ipswich Town on Sunday. Just like Kimmich, Ortega was given a hug by his passionate manager after being yelled at, and it appears that she will continue to do so. The defending champions of the Premier League were on a winning streak of three games in a row when Brentford staged a comeback.
After scoring two goals via Phil Foden, Guardiola believed that there were positives to be taken away from City’s performance. However, the result places his team in sixth position with 18 games left to play in the season. “It’s happened,” the one who had previously managed Bayern Munich and Barcelona concluded.
The decisions will be made by us one day, but not today. The guys are not receiving any complaints from me at all. I’m just going to make an evaluation from here. Despite the fact that we have three against three and two against two, we did not do it, and it has already occurred. Our focus is on finding ways to improve our performance. The fact that this is the reason why we drew is not related to this.
“We have a lot of activities to produce today, but we haven’t finished our work yet. Although Savinho, Phil, Matheus [Nunes], and Erling have a great pace, we were not able to complete the race. Savinho’s shot on the post and Erling’s reaction are examples of situations that can occur sometimes. It is not simple for players to make the right choices all the time and in the appropriate manner at the speed that they are moving.
It is going to get better. At this point, I am really satisfied with the performance. We are, of course, disappointed since we came so close to victory, but we were ultimately unsuccessful.
