Arsenal ‘to beat’ Man Utd to Amorim’s dream target with Arteta triggering 152-goal striker’s huge release clause

It has been stated that Arsenal are prepared to activate the massive release clause that is included in the contract of Viktor Gyokeres. The striker from Sporting CP has been selected as Arsenal’s replacement for Gabriel Jesus, who is currently sidelined with an injury. Additionally, a source has revealed the reason why Manchester United have been defeated in the competition for the free-scoring Swede.
Prior to Mikel Arteta’s ultimate decision to make do with the players at his disposal and having faith in Kai Havertz to play in a more central position, the Gunners had taken a serious look at the possibility of signing a new striker during the summer transfer window. Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko, who plays for RB Leipzig, were both on their radar. After a few months have passed, however, and with Arsenal maybe not being as effective in front of goal as they should be, Arteta is now eager to address those issues and recruit a striker who is capable of scoring the goals that will propel the team far and fully into the championship fight.
Due to the fact that Gabriel Jesus suffered a terrible injury to his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during Sunday’s FA Cup third-round loss to Manchester United on penalties, this requirement has now become even more pressing. Jesus is now expected to be out for an entire year.
Reports in France now claim that a move for Gyokeres is about to be triggered, much to the chagrin of his fellow suitors Manchester United, whose manager Ruben Amorim is desperate to reunite with the star. This comes despite the fact that they have been priced out of a move for their very top target, Alexander Isak, who plays for Newcastle.
According to L’Equipe, Arsenal is reportedly “no longer reluctant to pay” the hefty €70 million (£59 million, $72 million) clause for the goal-hungry Swede. Arsenal is now poised to win the race for his signature, as the injury to Jesus has convinced Arteta that he needs to take action immediately.
After Wednesday’s victory over Tottenham in the north London derby, Arteta confirmed that his team would try to be active before the transfer window closes. The prolific frontman has scored 32 goals in 30 appearances for the Primeira Liga champions so far this season.
We have suffered the loss of two significant players, Bukayo, who may be sidelined for as long as three months, and Gabby, who will be sidelined for an extremely extended period of time. “Yes, without a doubt.
“Without a doubt, we are going to give it a go [in this timeframe]. We are looking on a regular basis. We will make an effort. “Let’s see what we can get,” Arteta said in an interview with TNT Sports.
As a source explains the issue with Manchester United, the long-running pursuit of Gyokeres will come to a stop.
Arteta’s interest in acquiring Gyokeres has been revealed by sources for a considerable amount of time. During the summer, Arteta investigated the prospect of signing the former Coventry player. However, they ultimately decided to pursue Sesko instead, despite the fact that their attempt to get the Slovenian player was unsuccessful.
Since then, they have continued to keep an eye on him, and if L’Equipe is proven to be right, it will put an end to Arsenal’s long-standing interest in the 152-goal marksman who initially drew their notice more than 14 months ago.
In addition, Manchester United has been strongly linked with Gyokeres. The player has flourished under the management of Ruben Amorim at Sporting CP, and it is arguable that he played the best football of his career while playing for the 39-year-old coach.
On the other hand, when Amorim arrived at Old Trafford, he made a commitment to at least refrain from raiding his previous club during the January transfer window. However, he was unable to make any guarantees on the long term.
In addition, if he were to be given the opportunity to choose among all of the Sporting stars, Gyokeres would undoubtedly be at the very top of his wishlist.
Having said that, United are struggling to stay on the right side of the Premier League’s stringent Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), despite the fact that they are dealing with incredibly restricted financial means.
As a consequence of this, a respected journalist named Ben Jacobs has made it abundantly clear that United simply do not possess the resources necessary to make a move for Gyokeres at this time. This is despite the fact that it is widely acknowledged that United would be thrilled to acquire the striker.
“There’s been no outreach to Sporting yet, but what we can say is that Gyokeres price has dropped from his €100 million release clause down to something in the region of €70m,” Jacobs told FourFourTwo.
“He is a bit more affordable and certainly has lower wages and agent fees compared to another historical Manchester United target in Victor Osimhen, but they might look for something more economical or potentially within the Premier League.”
Arsenal also targeting Vlahovic; alarming Zubimendi says
after the connections to Gyokeres on Thursday morning, transfer analyst Rudy Galetti had informed us on Wednesday that Arsenal were making a beeline to capture Dusan Vlahovic, after seeing a cheeky opening bid for the Serbian fail.
And their expectations had been raised by allegations that the striker, who has just 18 months remaining in his agreement with Juventus, does not have a close connection with Bianconerri coach Thiago Motta.
One of the deals that the Gunners may have been confident of getting through – even if it was in the summer – was for Martin Zubimendi. This was in response to accusations that were published earlier this week in the Daily Mail that a deal was already in place to sign the Real Sociedad midfielder.
However, after Florian Plettenberg disclosed that the deal was not yet finalised and that four clubs were still considering the possibility of a transfer hijack, it is possible that the deal is not quite as far along as it was previously claimed to be.
Declan Rice is one of the individuals who anticipates Arsenal to take action this month. With that in mind, he has provided a hint as to what to anticipate from the Gunners, while also making fun of Tottenham in the wake of their 2-1 victory on Wednesday.
