Ben White, a member of Arsenal, has undertaken a minor surgical procedure to address a joint issue that has been bothering him.

The defender was able to participate from the bench in Arsenal’s most recent match, a 1-0 defeat to Newcastle on November 2, despite having started the previous two games against Chelsea and Inter.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta stated prior to the Newcastle match, “It is a minor matter, so we must safeguard him.”

Earlier this season, White was only utilised as a substitute in the 2-2 stalemate with Manchester City on September 22, and he also missed games against Leicester, Paris Saint-Germain, and Southampton.

Riccardo Calafiori, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Kieran Tierney are already sidelined by ailments, while Jurrien Timber has only recently recovered from a muscular issue.

Additionally, the Gunners have encountered injuries to Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka, and Mikel Merino, and Declan Rice, William Saliba, and Leandro Trossard have been suspended for red cards.

Arteta expressed his desire for an end to Arsenal’s injury problems, which had resulted in a “nightmare eight weeks” following Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea. This resulted in Arsenal being nine points behind champions Liverpool.

In that match, there were additional injury concerns, as Saka and Rice were compelled to leave the game in the second half and subsequently withdrew from international duty with England.

Arsenal anticipates an active period subsequent to White’s surgery. After the international break, they will resume their activities with a Premier League home encounter against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, November 23.
