Arsenal release Gabriel Jesus injury statement as Gunners’ worst fears confirmed
After suffering a defeat to Manchester United in the third round of the FA Cup, the Brazilian forward was forced to be taken out on a stretcher, and he is now expected to spend a significant amount of time on the sidelines.
A ligament damage to Gabriel Jesus’ anterior cruciate ligament has been confirmed by Arsenal, confirming the greatest worries that Gabriel Jesus had.
According to a report that was published by Mirror Sport on Monday, the Brazilian attacker was concerned that he had caused significant damage during the FA Cup match against Manchester United.
According to a statement released by the club on Tuesday, “Gabriel Jesus has received extensive assessments, scans, and specialist reviews, which have confirmed that he has sustained an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.” This comes after Jesus was substituted with an injury during our match against Manchester United on Sunday.
Within the next several days, Gabby will be undergoing surgery, and he will shortly start his recuperation and rehabilitation program.
“We will continue to keep everyone updated with Gabby’s recovery, with everyone at the club fully focused on supporting Gabby to ensure he is back to full fitness as soon as possible.”
Because of the severe injury, it is quite possible that Jesus will not only be unable to play for the remainder of the current season but also maybe for the remainder of the following season as well. Jesus had scored six goals in his previous seven outings for the Gunners.
The announcement is a devastating blow to Arsenal’s hopes of winning the title, as it leaves them with only one offensive player who is regarded as a striker, Kai Havertz. Arteta is also going to be without top player Bukayo Saka until March at the earliest, since he tore his hamstring last month. This will happen at the earliest.
When Arteta addressed at a press conference on Tuesday, before to the Gunners obtaining the striker’s medical report, he stated that he was concerned about Jesus’ injury. However, he added that the blow will not necessarily bring the club into the transfer market for a forward this month. Arteta’s statement was made before the Gunners received the forward’s medical report. even though they are constantly keeping an eye out for possible recruits.
The statement made by Arsenal was as follows: “My answer does not change; my answer persists.” As part of our efforts to strengthen the team, we are actively searching the market. Ever since the very first day, we have been doing it. Without doing so, we would be acting in a foolish manner since it presents a chance for the team to develop and progress.
“Especially with the circumstances that we have we are looking and we are trying and let’s see what we are able to do.”
