The redesigned Europa League league stage is nearing its end.

This season, Manchester United, Tottenham, and Rangers are hoping to advance to the knockout stage of Europe’s second-tier club tournament.

The competition’s group stage has undergone the most significant alteration, becoming a single 36-team “league stage.” Each club will play four home games and four away games against eight different clubs. The top eight finishers go straight to the round of 16.

In the knockout play-offs, teams ranked ninth through twenty-fourth will participate; the winners advance to the round of sixteen.

Before the one-leg final in Bilbao on May 21, teams compete in a two-leg tie in the round of sixteen, followed by quarterfinals and semi-finals. The elimination stage is still the same.

In the following round, who would Manchester United face? With a victory over FCSB in their final match, Manchester United, who are presently in fourth position, would secure a top-eight finish and advance directly to the round of 16.

They would play the winners of the play-off phase, which included the 13th, 14th, 19th, and 20th-placed clubs, if they finished the league phase in fourth place.

As the league stage draws to a close, the clubs in those spots are FC Midtjylland (19th), Elfsborg (20th), Rangers (13th), and AZ Alkmaar (14th).
