It is a well-known fact that the Olympic Games are a celebration of some of the best athletes in the world competing in the most popular sports; however, there is one sport that might not be included in the Olympics.

Some of the most popular sports that were featured at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, which took place last summer, include football, athletics, swimming, cycling, basketball, and tennis. These are just some of the sports that were featured.

Despite the fact that a staggering 32 sports were represented in Paris, there are a number of other sports that have never been included in the games. This is the case despite the fact that fans have been clamouring for the inclusion of sports such as darts, snooker, and mixed martial arts.

However, there is one sport that, despite being one of the most popular in the world, is not likely to ever be included in the Olympic Games.

Despite the fact that it is estimated that more than 750 million people around the world watch Formula One each year, the inclusion of the sport in the Olympic Games appears to be highly improbable due to the fact that each of the cars has a unique competitive advantage.

It is a well-known fact that the official Olympic charter contains a rule that expressly prohibits the inclusion of any and all motorsports in the Olympic Games.

The following was stated: “Sports, disciplines or events in which performance depends essentially on mechanical propulsion are not acceptable.”

In the Charter, the rule is referred to as Rule 47.4.2; however, it has been removed in recent years, and in 2012, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recognised the FIA, which is the governing body of Formula One.

Electric karting was featured as a demonstration sport at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in the hopes that it could help push it towards becoming a part of the schedule for Paris 2024. This was done as part of the growing relationship between the International Olympic Committee and the Federation of International Automobile Manufacturers (FIA).

In the past, the sport of motor racing was included in the Olympic Games held in Paris in the year 1900. The competitions were primarily designed to be point-to-point races between Paris and Toulouse, and the manufacturers were listed as the participants.

It is not possible to obtain information regarding the 14 races because the majority of the results were not made public and the races have never been recognised as official by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). However, drivers who competed in the Games were awarded medals.

Although there is no doubt that fans would be excited to see the sport included at the Olympics, Formula One drivers are not as enthusiastic about the idea. Drivers such as Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen have expressed their reluctance to participate in the sport.

“It’s too much for automobiles. Verstappen made the statement in July that “I don’t think we belong at the Olympic stage.” This statement was made because “[Drivers] did not grow up in that Olympic environment.”

“And that’s fine, because we have our own championship which I think is really well received.”
