England’s journey to Euro 2024 success will commence on Sunday when they take on Serbia.

In anticipation of Euro 2024, Patrick Vieira, a great of both Arsenal and France, has identified the three individuals Gareth Southgate needs to focus on.

England is one of the favourites to win the tournament going into it, which gets underway on Friday night with hosts Germany playing Scotland.

After heartbreakingly losing to the Three Lions in a penalty shootout at Wembley three years prior, Southgate will be hoping to finally guide the team to glory.

After heartbreakingly losing to the Three Lions in a penalty shootout at Wembley three years prior, Southgate will be hoping to finally guide the team to glory.

Vieira discussed his career as a player and manager with celebrities including Ian Wright, Jamie Carragher, Gary Neville, and Roy Keane on the most recent episode of Stick to Football, which is presented by Sky Bet.

When discussing the forthcoming Euro 2024, Vieira was asked if he believed France will win.

“I think France are the favourites,” he remarked. Other than England, I don’t think any other country can defeat France.

Vieira responded, “In one game anything can happen; obviously they have the talented players to do it,” in response to a question regarding how England can defeat France. The work that Phil Foden has been doing has me in awe.

“You and Jude Bellingham are a good match. Since you’ll need someone up front who can score those goals, I also believe it will rely on how (Harry) Kane performs in the tournament. However, I believe England will have a strong chance to join France there.

Nevertheless, England’s last pre-tournament friendly at Wembley against Iceland dealt a severe damage to their preparations for the championship.

“It was obviously a disjointed and disappointing performance and we didn’t show enough character,” Southgate said in a post-match statement. However, I believe that it will provide us with a great focus in the lead-up to the event.

“Everyone is predicting that we will go there, enter, and not encounter any issues. However, it is not how international football actually operates. We need to improve significantly from where we were today without the ball, and we also need to be more composed than we were when the ball was in play.

This Sunday, England takes on Serbia in their Euro 2024 voyage opener.
