Man Utd Player Proving People Wrong After 4-1 Pre-Season Win vs Bournemouth

Following Wednesday night’s 4-1 victory against Bournemouth in a preseason friendly, Manchester United fans have completely changed their minds about one guy. With the transfer deadline now a little over a month away, Ruben Amorim can’t be far from finalising what his first full-season squad will look like.
The only two high-profile additions this summer are still Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, but several of the present group, including captain Bruno Fernandes, have already solidified their places in the starting lineup. Additionally, there is now much more opportunity—and a need—to make an impression, even though the Red Devils are still processing their worst Premier League finish.
Patrick Dorgu is one player who appears to have made amends after a difficult start to life at Old Trafford. Supporters were eager to add him to the lengthy list of wasted talent following a string of lacklustre performances last season, including one especially poor showing against Manchester City. However, given that he will be the starting left wing-back for the 2025–2026 season, it looks like they made a mistake.
Patrick Dorgu Impresses in 4-1 Pre-season Win
The Denmark international is coming into his own with the Red Devils

Dorgu appeared to be a timid, well-intentioned defender-turned-attacker in the early weeks of his Man United tenure. Every interaction or touch appeared to be tinged with cautious anxiety, which frequently resulted in errors. However, his cameo against Bournemouth on Wednesday night was the game that most demonstrated his confidence growth.
The Dane was a relentless livewire during the Premier League Summer Series friendly, rushing up and down to encourage both attack and defence, hugging the touchline, and standing on the shoulder of the final defender. He also got himself on the scorecard, which was the cherry on top. See some of the following analysis of his performance:
One X user commented, “Dorgu,” expressing how much more delighted viewers were by Dorgu than by the fresh signings they had hoped to see up close.
I apologise for my scepticism. I appreciate you proving me incorrect. Go ahead and ruin the Premier League for the upcoming season. A second was added elsewhere:
“I’ll make one statement. Patrick Dorgu’s signing was a success for INEOS. This child has a lot of potential.
One commenter praised the left wing-back, saying, “Dorgu you’ve proved me wrong,” while another added, “Patrick Dorgu, what a player.” Additionally, a fifth came to the conclusion that Dorgu was proving me incorrect this preseason, even though I knew it was preseason. In fact, he looks fantastic.
The 20-year-old, who joined from Lecce earlier this year for £25 million, has always demonstrated a strong will to win at Old Trafford, but he is now demonstrating that he has the technical skills to match his mindset.
Additionally, the left side of midfield now appears to be Dorgu’s to lose, even if players like Luke Shaw are healthy when the Red Devils host Arsenal on August 17 to begin the new season.
