Newcastle’s ‘True’ Asking Price For Liverpool to Sign Alexander Isak Revealed

Alexander Isak, a sniper for Newcastle United, is currently training with his old team, Real Sociedad, in an effort to force a summer transfer. It has been made public how much the Swede’s current Premier League employers are willing to sell him for.

Florian Plettenberg, a journalist for Sky Sports Germany, claims that Arne Slot’s Liverpool, the front-runners in the competition for his services, have reached a personal agreement with the 25-year-old, who has 62 goals for Newcastle.

Given his talent, there was always a question of whether he would stay on Tyneside into the summer, but it would always take a big offer to get one of football’s most promising center-forwards to leave.

Alexander Isak’s True Value Revealed as Newcastle Exit Looks Likely

Journalist Keith Downie expects transfer to smash the Premier League record

After three years of service, 52-cap Sweden international Isak has made it obvious to the St James’ Park management that he wants to leave this summer by refusing to play on the team’s preseason tour in Asia.

Very few strikers have had such an influence in the Premier League throughout that time. In addition to his many goals, the slick but booming goal scorer is also capable of dribbling, creating, and wreaking havoc.

According to earlier reports, Newcastle would be open to doing business for a sum of around £150 million. Journalist Keith Downie concurred that the north-east outfit’s upper management is holding out for such a high amount. He stated on his YouTube channel:

“I firmly believe the trade will be completed if Liverpool shows up to the table with a sizable bid. The only question is whether Liverpool can raise the money. I am aware that Newcastle has put the asking price at £150 [million], and they want that amount.

Downie added that the Magpies might be persuaded to let go of their star player, who was crucial in breaking their 56-year trophy drought by scoring in the League Cup final the previous season, if Liverpool were to present a deal worth £135 million.

“I believe they will ultimately agree to a deal for approximately £135 [million], or so, which still breaks the Premier League record.”

Any prospective buyer would be getting one of the top attackers in football right now with Isak. The lanky Swede, who cost Newcastle a club record £63 million to sign, scored 27 goals and provided six assists across all competitions in 2024–2025 alone, including 23 Premier League goals.

Isak’s current contract with Newcastle is set to expire in June 2028. According to The Athletic, they have been eager to keep him on better terms while also identifying possible successors in case he decides to walk on this summer.
