Kris Boyd Breaks Down What Brendan Rodgers Is Getting Wrong After Celtic’s Defeat to Dundee”

The despair and gloom of Celtic loss.

Unfortunately for Brendan Rodgers, Celtic have turned in far too many frightening performances this season.

Celtic put on another poor performance on Sunday, losing 2-0 to Dundee at Dens Park.

What’s worse is that, after the game, some Celtic fans will grit their teeth and agree with Kris Boyd, particularly about Rodgers.

Kris Boyd questions Brendan Rodgers following Celtic’s defeat to Dundee.

There has been a lot of off-field noise at Celtic this season, and it continued against Dundee when Celtic fans protested the board by hurling balls into the pitch.

After the game, Boyd told Sky Sports that Rodgers is ‘getting away with everything’ because ‘everyone’ gets ‘blame’, from players to board members, but not the manager.

Boyd wanted to emphasise that there is enough talent in this Celtic team to perform much better, but they aren’t.

“There again, it’s a case of, ‘you have to get to the next transfer window?'” indicated Boyd. “Why? They’ve wasted money. You’ve spent money again.

“The balls coming onto the pitch (fan protests) are a complete deflection.” That team replicates Brendan Rodgers’ current form. Look at them. He appears to have simply switched off. The team is flat. The team does not appear to be full of vigour.

“Brendan Rodgers, the signs are already there. Later on, I began conducting interviews with media companies. Oh, I’m still here. I will be available next year because I am not going to re-sign with Celtic.

“He is getting away with everything, and everyone is blaming the players. Everyone blames the board for not bringing in players, and you (Sutton) have stated this yourself. When is Brendan Rodgers going to face criticism?

Sutton: “I think he took some responsibility there. He stated that he is responsible for improving the team’s performance. But it has been all season.

“He will point, and fairly so, to rotten recruitment. I think it is fair.”

Boyd delivers the unpleasant truth.

Nobody wants to agree with Boyd, and he frequently spouts bullshit about Scotland’s champions.

But, regardless of how you feel about certain performances and defeats this season, they have been suspect and well below par since last season.

The style of play has been slow, with Ange Postecoglou’s additions providing the best performances. The absence of additions following the defeat to Kairat Almaty received far too much attention, rather than Rodgers.

Forget about the results; Celtic’s performances have been questionable all season, and one point from two Europa League games may become three next Thursday.
