Celtic fans send a strong message to Brendan Rodgers following odd post-match Dundee comments.

Brendan Rodgers has disappointed many Celtic fans with his comments on the team’s failure to overcome Dundee on Sunday.

The Celtic manager is under fire after explaining why his team performed poorly and lost to Dundee at Dens Park for the first time in nearly 40 years.

Celtic fans appreciate Rodgers’ limits following the Parkhead board’s disastrous management of the summer transfer window.

But, in reality, the talents Rodgers had at his disposal should have been enough to help Celtic defeat one of the league’s poorest attacking clubs.

It was not. And after Dundee defeated Celtic, what Rodgers stated in the post-match news conference did not sit well with a huge portion of the Hoops fanbase.

What Brendan Rodgers stated after Dundee’s defeat, which shocked Celtic fans.

Rodgers declined to blame Celtic fans’ protests for the defeat at Dens Park. The Hoops boss was extremely loud about this.

But what he did blame and how Rodgers delivered the statement has irritated many Celtic fans.

Rodgers told Superscoreboard, “Listen, it is not all linear and smooth throughout the season. That is for sure.

“The challenge from the summer, now heading into here, is that we lost a lot of firepower and goals from the club.

“There’s no way you’ll go into a race and be handed the keys to a Honda Civic and told to drive it like a Ferrari.

“This is not going to happen. So, until something changes, I’ll have to find solutions. Because, as I already stated, goals, speed, and everything else are the result of teamwork. And we must find a way to be better.

And it’s fair to assume that such statements did not go over well with many Celtic fans.

Celtic supporters send Rodgers a clear message following odd Dundee comments.
As previously said, Celtic supporters understand and appreciate Rodgers’ position in the transfer market.

However, many people are sceptical of his explanations for poor league performances, as well as his comment following such a poor performance and defeat.

@TheGr33nDove simply said, “He’s at it.” Another Celtic supporter, @methvesoutlook1, wrote, “He’s completely wrong. I don’t care how many crimes the board has committed; this is a completely inappropriate way to put the team under the bus.

“How’s your morale, Callum and Co? “Poor stuff.”

@Markyboy_1989 is very upset and took aim at Rodgers, saying, “No wonder the players have downed tools with patter like that.” Those are the kinds of comments that cost you a dressing room, and by the looks of it, he did it a long time ago.”

While many Celtic fans still believe Rodgers can turn things around, he’s doing himself no favours by making ridiculous comments like these after another awful and abject performance.
