On Tuesday evening, Arsenal extended their excellent Champions League record with a 4-0 victory over Atletico Madrid.

Mikel Arteta’s team continued their unbeaten run in the Champions League league phase courtesy to second-half goals from Gabriel Magalhaes, Gabriel Martinelli, and Viktor Gyokeres (2).



The Gunners put on another outstanding performance, having won 2-0 over Athletic Bilbao last month to kick off their 2025-26 European season.


They followed up with another 2-0 success at the Emirates Stadium, this time over Greek Super League side Olympiacos, with to goals from Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.

Arsenal not only earned three points this week, but also made Champions League history by becoming the first team to win seven consecutive games against Spanish rivals.

Their first triumph in Bilbao came last month, following back-to-back victories over Sevilla in 2023-24, as well as victories over Girona and Real Madrid the previous season.

They defeated Sevilla at home and away, including a 2-1 triumph at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium, and their outstanding record against Spanish opponents includes a 3-0 win against Los Blancos previous season.

As many will recall, Declan Rice struck two free kicks to knock out the La Liga giants from last season’s Champions League campaign, winning the tie 5-1 on aggregate.

Arsenal has won seven consecutive matches against Spanish teams, including a 1-2 victory over Sevilla (A).

Arsenal’s Champions League campaign will resume against Slavia Prague on November 4.

Tyreece John-Jules, a striker who spent 15 years at Arsenal but never had a first-team appearance, was spotted practicing with Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice after being encouraged to do so in order to maintain his fitness.

During his time at North London, John-Jules had loan spells with Lincoln City, Doncaster Rovers, Blackpool, Sheffield Wednesday, Ipswich Town and Derby County. He then made a permanent move to League One club Crawley Town.
