Florian Wirtz Left Furious by Mohamed Salah’s Actions During Frankfurt 1-5 Liverpool

Liverpool fans were outraged with star forward Mohamed Salah following their encounter against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Liverpool were in the midst of a poor run of form as they prepared for their third Champions League encounter of the season. The Reds have lost four consecutive games in all competitions, a first in Arne Slot’s managerial history.

Worries were growing for Liverpool, who had invested significantly during the summer to prepare for their Premier League championship defence. Some of their new signings, such as Hugo Ekitike, have made an immediate impact at Anfield, while others have faltered.

In Frankfurt, Liverpool went behind to a Rasmus Kristensen goal, raising concerns that they might suffer another defeat. Liverpool quickly restored parity in the game and went on to establish a comfortable lead. Finally, the Reds cruised to a 5-1 triumph.

Despite the scoreline and numerous outstanding performances by Liverpool players, fans were dissatisfied with a modern legend’s performance.

Salah Criticised For Performance Against Eintracht

Before the game started, there was a lot of talk over Liverpool’s team selection. Following Liverpool’s defeat to Manchester United, it was expected that they would make a change to their lineup, but few expected Mohamed Salah to slide to the bench.

Salah entered the game in the 74th minute, when Liverpool led 5-1. Florian Wirtz had already broken his statistical drought against Eintracht, notching two assists in the second half after failing to contribute to any goals in his first ten outings for the club.

Sharing the pitch with Wirtz, Salah appeared to have a straightforward ball to the German, allowing him to score his first Liverpool goal.

Instead, the Egyptian fired and missed, with one fan remarking that it was the second time in four days that Salah did not “just square it for a Wirtz tap in,” following a similar situation against Manchester United at Anfield. Wirtz, for his part, appeared irritated by his teammate’s decision.

Another fan simply tweeted, “Do you see why I get so annoyed with Salah,” expressing current issues with the club’s superstar, who has had a sluggish start to the season.

Victory over Eintracht felt essential. Salah’s minutes, however, did not make a compelling case for his place in the first squad. The Egyptian has had a rocky start to the season, and based on his cameo against Frankfurt, it appears that he is not yet at his spectacular best.

“That’s so greedy from Salah, Wirtz is right there for his first goal.”
