The statement made by Dejphon Chansiri to the Mayor of Sheffield regarding the tax issue involving Sheffield Wednesday is absurd.

Last week, Dejphon Chansiri reached out to Oliver Coppard, the mayor of South Yorkshire, in an attempt to have Sheffield Wednesday’s tax bill removed.
The Owls went into administration earlier this month as a result of their financial difficulties this season.
According to reports, HMRC is owing a debt totaling almost £1 million, which has been the final straw.
As a result, the Championship team received an immediate 12-point deduction penalty, and Begbies Traynor was brought in to settle the dispute.
With Chansiri’s tenure at Sheffield Wednesday coming to an end, a new owner is expected to be identified.
The strange exchange between Dejphon Chansiri and the mayor

According to Labour MP Clive Betts, Chansiri contacted Coppard last week in an attempt to settle the dispute with HMRC.
He disclosed that the Thai businessman thought the mayor could stop the tax collector from pursuing the £1 million that was due.
According to All Wednesday with Joe Crann on YouTube, Betts stated, “He abruptly contacted the mayor last Sunday and asked if I could speak with him.”
Without getting into specifics or discussing confidentiality, I believe that Mr. Chansiri’s ideas about what the mayor could do—such as stopping the tax collector from pursuing him—were probably a little bit out of touch with reality. The mayor, after all, is answerable to the people of South Yorkshire.
Several players have terminated their contracts as a result of Sheffield Wednesday’s repeated failure to pay employees on time this season, including five of the previous seven months.
After leading the squad to a 12th-place finish, Danny Rohl also left as head coach in the summer, handing the reins over to his assistant, Henrik Pedersen.
The Yorkshire team, currently at the foot of the Championship table and 16 points outside of safety after just 12 games because of their deduction, has had a challenging start to the season.
With a deficit of six points, Pedersen’s team is far from the rest of the division and is virtually guaranteed to be relegated to League One.
Sheffield Wednesday’s next game is a trip to West Brom, which kicks off at 12.30 p.m. on November 1.

Without Dejphon Chansiri, Sheffield Wednesday will be far better off.
This demonstrates even more that Chansiri was unfit to be the club’s owner and had no idea what he was doing with Sheffield Wednesday.
The Owls will be far better off without him being involved, which is what the administrators will now be focusing on.
Although it’s incredible that it’s reached this stage, there should be plenty of potential purchasers waiting to acquire the business, so there remains hope.
Chansiri was simply totally out of his depth, and hopefully this is the last anyone in the EFL will hear from him for good.
