Birmingham City face Millwall challenge amid Patrick Roberts’ injury concerns.

Birmingham City manager Chris Davies has issued an update on Patrick Roberts’ fitness, after the winger was substituted during the 4-0 win over Portsmouth.

Roberts, who played a key role in the Blues’ early success, was replaced by Keshi Anderson at halftime due to a knock. It comes only weeks after the 28-year-old was forced to withdraw from the Preston game and was also substituted early in the defeat to Bristol City.

After the game, Davies moved to assuage anxieties about a significant issue:

“He just received a knock. I don’t think it’s significant; it was more of a precaution. I spoke with him at halftime and again at the end, and I don’t believe it’s anything serious, but we’ll see tomorrow.”

The Blues manager has not ruled Roberts out of Tuesday night’s match against Millwall at St Andrew’s, adding:

“I haven’t had that conversation yet, but tomorrow will probably be more decisive.”

Meanwhile, Willum Willumsson will miss next week’s game, while Jack Robinson returns from suspension.
