Don Goodman, an EFL analyst, believes that Sheffield Wednesday’s ability to attract prospective buyers is “exciting news.”

The former Wolves and West Brom striker has always been positive about interest in purchasing the Hillsborough-based club, but Dejphon Chansiri’s persistent refusal to sell for anything less than £100 million has prevented them from making an offer.

Now that the club is under administration, more realistic bids can be made, as long as the bidders can provide proof of £50 million in funds to carry the club ahead in the next years.

The i has claimed that the first bids for Sheffield Wednesday are expected as early as the end of this week, with at least ten “very serious” potential owners expressing interest.

The Owls will soon be under new ownership, a day that many Wednesdayites did not see coming for a long time.

Don Goodman reacts to the latest Sheffield Wednesday takeover news.

Sky Sports analyst Don Goodman spoke exclusively with Football League World about the latest report.

Finally, Sheffield Wednesday is a lucrative option because they are a club with a rich history, a dedicated fan base, and plenty of room for growth.

Goodman believes that if the new owner recognizes this and offers them the support they need to climb, they will be celebrated as a hero inside Hillsborough.

“It’s absolutely exciting news for Sheffield Wednesday,” Goodman told reporters. “It could not have been any worse, frankly.

“It’s a huge club with a massive fanbase, an old traditional stadium that creates an incredible atmosphere, and the person who gets things right for that football club will be a winner, without a doubt.”

“The fans have suffered over the last few years, and they want a caring owner who is ambitious and willing to invest – they crave it.

“And like I’ve always said, there was going to be serious interest in Sheffield Wednesday, as it was always an incredible prospect.”

Wednesday lovers have had to wait for this day, and it’s almost here. If the new owner is willing to commit, it will be excellent for them.

It is time for Sheffield Wednesday fans to become excited.

After a seven-month period in which five players’ wages were delayed, resulting in angry players walking away from their contracts, this has been a long time coming for Wednesday fans, and some are still in shock.

Many believed the Owls were doomed, but there is finally light at the end of the tunnel, and Wednesday fans are coming near to the other side.

According to The Guardian, teams must remain on the market in administration for 28 days, so there will still be some time until Sheffield Wednesday has a new owner, but in the meanwhile, there is reason to be excited.

Wednesday fans may sit back and watch as those who are interested come forward to stake their claim to ownership of the team. Mike Ashley has apparently expressed interest, but with at least ten people stepping forward, it could be anyone.

After a difficult few months, things are beginning to improve in Hillsborough.
