Breaking New: “it will be an amazing deal” Chelsea owner Todd boehly, send TWO strong message to Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino over the transfer of £100m Manchester United winger

With the left back among The Athletic’s top earners, Chelsea could think about moving vice captain Ben Chilwell if the price is right.

Arriving at Stamford Bridge in a move valued £50m from Leicester City in 2020, Chilwell has won the Champions League and Uefa Super Cup during his stay in west London.

Although Chilwell’s time in west London has been beset by injury problems and he battled to remain fit last season, he has shown to be a major contributor for Chelsea over the years.

Chelsea might want to discuss telling Chilwell.
Chilwell’s quality is unquestionable when he is completely fit and firing all on all cylinders, but the issue is that this has been an uncommon occurrence recently.

The 27-year-old missed a lot of the campaign with a hamstring problem, so he only made 21 appearances in all competitions last season. When he returned he battled to hit anywhere near his peak form.

Since his ACL damage in November 2021, Transfermarkt Chilwell has really missed 268 days via eight separate injuries.

Concerns have surfaced about Chilwell’s future with Enzo Maresca’s approach on paper not seeming to fit his abilities and he’s apparently on Manchester United’s list as they search for a new left defender.

Although Chilwell has three years left on his contract, the Athletic note that, should the price be appropriate, he is a player the Blues might want to move. The England international is among the best earners at the club.

Although Chilwell’s influence may have faded on the ball, off the pitch he is vital as, at 27, he is among the oldest and most experienced team member and among the few who truly understands what it’s like to win titles with the club.

With Marc Cucurella taking a well earned beak after winning Euro 2024 Chilwell definitely needs to take advantage and impress Maresca in the absence of his team-mate. The former Leicester star has an opportunity to wow her.
