In Chelsea’s 2-2 tie with Wrexham, Robert Sanchez got the start in goal, but there’s no assurance that he’ll start at number one come football season.

At the moment, Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic appear to be having some difficulties, while Filip Jorgensen of Villarreal is rumoured to be interested in moving to Stamford Bridge.

After his recent season, you get the impression that Jorgensen, 22, does not want to leave Villarreal to take a No. 2 position. He wants to join Chelsea.

During the previous season, Jorgensen was among the best goalkeepers in La Liga. According to FBref, no goalie made as many saves as the Denmark U21 international (143).

Chelsea does have a lot of goalkeepers, so they are not exactly short on them. Sanchez and Petrovic are No. 1 and No. 2 on the team right now.

Markus Bettinelli is also on the first team, and Lucas Bergstrom is in the United States with the Blues for their pre-season tour.

Even so, Maresca hasn’t said for sure that Chelsea won’t sign another custodian this summer.

The Italian told football.london and other news sites after his team tied Wrexham 2-2, “We will see.” He added. We have four defenders in goal. Petro hurt himself. Anything can happen for us when the move window is open.

Should Chelsea get a new goalie?
Sanchez and Petrovic were the only new players Chelsea hired last summer. I think it’s a bit harsh to try to replace them after only one season.

The team should give them one more year to show that they are good enough to be the first choice.

Chelsea can get a new custodian in the summer of 2025 if that doesn’t happen. But it looks like the Blues want to bring in someone else now.
