Chelsea are actively participating in the transfer market while their new manager, Enzo Maresca, leads the first-team group in their pre-season training.

In order to have any possibility of restoring the desired success to Stamford Bridge, the Blues will have to immediately start performing well under the guidance of the Italian manager.

The owner, Todd Boehly, has demonstrated a notable lack of patience, implying that Maresca must achieve success where previous managers such as Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, Frank Lampard, and Mauricio Pochettino have not been able to.

Chelsea is nearing the completion of a deal for Jorgensen.
Therefore, it is crucial that the manager acquires the players he desires this summer, and it seems that the club is about to secure another signing.

Fabrizio Romano, in his exclusive Daily Briefing with CaughtOffside, stated that there is currently no business agreement between Chelsea and Villarreal for Filip Jorgensen.

According to the information I have received, the custodian has expressed a desire to join Chelsea, and Chelsea is actively pursuing this. Their bid of €20m fell short of Villarreal’s desired amount of €25m, resulting in a rather narrow difference.

“The negotiation is likely to extend into next week, but there is a significant possibility of successfully completing the deal.”

Acquiring the custodian will provide Maresca with the desired competitiveness in the realm of goalkeeping.

Robert Sanchez will have constant competition from Jorgensen in the 2024/25 season, which means he cannot afford to be complacent.

With an additional month remaining until the transfer window concludes, there is plenty opportunity for other transactions to be completed.

If Chelsea can adhere to the regulations of Financial Fair Play, it is highly probable that they will continue to be significant participants in the market.

However, it seems improbable that they will sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

“I am not aware of any recent developments between Chelsea and Victor Osimhen,” Romano included.

“To clarify, Victor Osimhen has expressed his desire to depart from Napoli. Meanwhile, Napoli’s objective is to secure the signing of Romelu Lukaku. This is their current plan.”

“What is the current status of Osimhen?” Paris Saint-Germain firmly reject the initial two requirements proposed by Napoli during their recent discussion.

Approximately six days earlier, Napoli requested the inclusion of Kang-in Lee in the agreement, but PSG declined. Subsequently, Napoli requested PSG to fulfil the financial obligation stipulated in the release clause, to which PSG declined.

“In the event that the price decreases, PSG can still be considered as a viable option, as Victor Osimhen has expressed a strong desire to join PSG and has given them his approval 10 days ago.”
