Man Utd is actively working to strengthen its academy in addition to adding players to the main team. This is evidenced by their activities in the transfer market. They are presently focussing on Samuel Lusale, a winger for Crystal Palace.

The Red Devils were reportedly close to signing the 16-year-old, according to a Manchester Evening News story from the beginning of last month.

The club has now struck a complete deal, as MUFC Youth announced on Twitter (X) after nearly a month.

Man Utd has finally secured its goal following protracted discussions. The teenager from Slovakia was recently representing his country at the Euros U-17. He was also a member of Crystal Palace’s FA Youth Cup team the previous year.

Lusale was characterised as “a quick, dynamic winger who is regarded as one of the most exciting attacking players in the UK at under-16 level” on the Roc Nation website, as reported by MEN. With his explosive pace and direct running with the ball, he can play comfortably off the right or left wing and poses a constant threat to the opposing defence. He frequently provides his squad with assists and goals.

Lusale was acquired by Man Utd when the teenager turned down a scholarship offer. In an effort to create an exciting future for the club in the upcoming years, they have now added one more promising young player to the academy.

In recent seasons, United supporters have witnessed the rise of players from the academy such as Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo. They have since established themselves as two of Erik ten Hag’s key figures.

This is a direct message to these young people that Manchester United will value them as one of their own and offer them a shot in the first team if they can succeed in the academy and continually demonstrate their talent.

Man Utd cherish homegrown talent and, unlike a club like Chelsea, who are looking to sell academy graduates like Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah to generate pure profits. All in all, we can say is that Samuel Lusale made the right decision.
