Reports state that as Manchester United achieve a breakthrough in transfers, Paris Saint-Germain is now prepared to accept a loan agreement for Manuel Ugarte.

Thus far this summer, the Red Devils have added two players: teenage centre-back Leny Yoro from Lille in Ligue Un and Netherlands international Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna.

Rasmus Hojlund and Yoro’s injuries may potentially “accelerate” Man Utd’s aspirations to add a striker and another centre-back before the summer transfer window closes.

Over the next weeks, Man Utd is also eager to add another defensive midfield player, and their top targets are Sofyan Amrabat of Fiorentina and Ugarte of PSG.

Ugarte appears to be their primary target, and Man Utd are reportedly being turned off by PSG’s high asking price, as the French team is reportedly seeking €60 million (£51 million) for the Uruguay international.

However, a new report from the French daily L’Equipe (via Sport Witness) states that Man Utd “will allow” PSG to “sign midfielder on reasonable terms” after PSG “collapsed demands” for Ugarte.

Even though Ugarte only joined PSG a year ago for €60 million, the team has shifted its position on a permanent move and is now amenable to a “paid loan with a high purchase option.”

The Ligue Un team is “now focused on moving Ugarte on,” as PSG is close to agreeing to terms to acquire midfielder Joao Neves from Benfica this week.

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Neves, a previous Manchester United target, is in Paris today for his medical as PSG attempts to finalise a deal.

“Joao Neves, in Paris today with medical tests booked as new Paris Saint-Germain player,” Romano posted on X. after a €60 million plus €10 million add-on package agreement with Benfica, the contract will be signed.
