Following the completion of the medical examination, Manchester United has revealed that the shirt number is ready for the Bayern Munich star.
The possibility of Manchester United acquiring the services of Noussair Mazraoui appears to be growing, but the question remains: what number will he wear for the team?

Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are making an effort to strengthen the squad that Erik ten Hag has assembled for Manchester United during their first transfer window in charge of the club.

This summer, about eighty million pounds has already been spent on the signing of Joshua Zirkzee, a striker, and Leny Yoro, a brilliant centre-back who has been sidelined for three months due to an injury.

Following the conclusion of the transfer window, it appears that United will be adding Noussair Mazraoui to their first squad as their third acquisition of the season.

Ten Hag has landed on Mazraoui, a former Ajax talent who is the youngest player he has ever given a debut to in Amsterdam. He is looking for a more progressive right-back who is better on the ball than Aaron Wan-Bissaka to be a part of his squad.

According to the most recent sources, the 26-year-old player is scheduled to go to Manchester for his medical examination on Tuesday. Ten Hag is eager to have him available for the Community Shield match against Manchester City that will take place on Saturday.

Despite this, it does not appear that an agreement has been made with Bayern Munich, since a double offer for Mazraoui and his teammate Matthijs de Ligt was turned down.

In light of the fact that the move appears to be getting closer and closer to being finalised, the following are the squad numbers that Mazaroui might wear at Old Trafford.

It seems that Mazraoui is a fan of this particular number, thus it is possible that he will choose it as his top choice.

Since 2017, the Moroccan has been wearing it for the sake of his country. On the other hand, because Achraf Hakimi is claiming the other flank, he is more likely to play left back for Morocco.

Since the departure of Eric Bailly in 2023, the number three has been available. Additionally, Denis Irwin, Luke Shaw, and Patrice Evra were seen wearing it.

No. 4
It is possible that Kobbie Mainoo is considering the No. 4 as an upgrade to his current No. 37, but it is also possible that Mazraoui is interested in it. His fellow countryman Sofyan Amrabat wore the number during his loan stint the previous year, and it is a number that is appropriate for a defender.

No. 13
Despite the fact that the No. 13 is not particularly well-liked by outfielders, it is typically allocated to provide backup for goalkeepers such as Lee Grant, Ander Lindegaard, and Roy Carroll. In spite of this, Park Ji-sung wore it with great pride while playing for United.

Rank 19
As a result of Raphael Varane’s departure this summer, the No. 19 position has been available for the first time since 2021. Among the prior occupants of this space are players such as Marcus Rashford, Danny Welbeck, and Gerard Pique.

No. 26
Since the departure of Dean Henderson to Crystal Palace in the previous year, the number 26 has been available for use. At Old Trafford, the number does not have a history that is particularly noteworthy.

In addition to being free, the number 27 has been worn by defenders Alex Telles and Mikel Silvestre in the past. Wout Weghorst was the last player to wear it because it was released in 2023.

No. 40
Mazraoui has worn the number 40 throughout his entire career at Bayern Munich, despite the fact that it is a high number and is typically not ideal for one of the first-team players.

There is a possibility that he has a connection to the number, or that he simply wants to go as far away from it as possible.

Before moving on to the higher digits, the numbers 31, 32, 33, 34, 36, and 39 are also liberated from restriction.
