David Hancko has talked about his future and has been linked to a move to Old Trafford.

David Hancko, a defender who has been linked to Manchester United, has provided an explanation of his transfer stance as speculation around his future at Feyenoord continues to intensify.

Despite the fact that the Slovakian international defender is presently preparing for the new Eredivisie season with the Dutch giants, he has been linked with a move to a number of the top teams in European football this summer.

Based on his versatility as a centre back and left back, the 26-year-old player has been linked with a move to Liverpool, which would bring him back together with his former manager Arne Slot. Additionally, a report in the Athletic stated that United are mulling over a deal, given his ability to play both positions.

The interest from Atletico Madrid, on the other hand, is thought to be the most advanced. According to reports, Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has made a deal for Hancko one of his top transfer priority for this summer.

Hancko, on the other hand, has responded to rumours that he has been interested in other clubs. He has also provided an explanation of his position over his future, stating that he believes it would not be a punishment for him to remain at Feyenoord beyond the summer of this year.

Madrid’s football club? The media’s assertion that my head was turned because of the salary that Atleti would have offered was something that I did not like. According to Hancko, such is not the case.

I already have a fantastic contract with this company. What matters to me is not the amount of money. The fact that Feyenoord is requesting additional funds from Atleti is something that I am fully aware of; nonetheless, I am unable to take any action regarding this matter because it is not within my control. If I remain at Feyenoord, it will not be considered a punishment. This is my favourite club.

The Eredivisie championship and the Dutch Cup were both won by Hancko during his two years in Rotterdam, when he played for Feyenoord after moving there from Sparta Prague two seasons previously.

In addition to that, he has won league titles in both Czechia and Slovakia, has played for Fiorentina in Serie A, and was an integral part of the Slovakian team that defeated England in the round of 16 of the European Championship for Football in 2024 this summer.

After acquiring the services of the teenage defender Leny Yoro this summer, United has the potential to acquire a total of three new central defenders during this transfer window. Matthijs de Ligt, a defender for Bayern Munich, and Jarrad Branthwaite, a standout player for Everton, have also been mentioned in connection with potential transfers.
