It was an exhibition match that amply illustrated why Jürgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola will be the coaches of their respective generations. This Premier League era will be defined by these two teams from Manchester City and Liverpool.

Manchester City had the better of the first half. Guardiola’s masterful play softened the atmosphere at Anfield, as Darwin Núñez was barely able to stay onside, let alone hold the ball up.

It turned in the second. Liverpool was able to exert more control over the situation and pin its rival back. Luis Díaz did everything but score, Núñez got better, and Alexis Mac Allister managed to reach new heights.
