Talented talents abound in Manchester United’s academy, with Amir Ibragimov being one of the best.

With such a long history, Manchester United’s first team and academy are inextricably linked.

The club has a lengthy history of producing elite players from its academy who go on to excel in the senior team, and Erik ten Hag has continued this trend.

Both Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho have been excellent for Ten Hag and have rapidly established themselves as important players.

During preseason, Harry Amass was hoping to get on that list. However, now that first team practice has resumed at Carrington, teenage phenom Amir Ibragimov is taking part.

Only a few players in the entire academy system are thought to possess even close to Ibragimov’s level of skill, and Ten Hag is obviously of the same opinion.

This was made clear in the week leading up to the Community Shield, as the 16-year-old was photographed practicing with United’s first squad with players like Mainoo and Garnacho.

Ibragimov’s lack of participation in the academy competitions that United has sent teams to raise questions about his fitness.

But maybe that’s because Ten Hag has larger ambitions for the England U16 wonderkid, who was born in Dagestan.

Ibragimov has been in senior training; why?
Ibragimov has already participated in senior training, most notably in April 2023 when he was only 15 years old.

It makes logical that Ten Hag is looking more closely at the star who resembles Wayne Rooney because he is a tremendous talent and is reportedly already thrilled about his future.

But it appears that for the time being, he will only be in training with the recently returned group to boost numbers.

Ibragimov’s main goals this season must be to stay in shape and perform well for the U18 and U21 squads. We also imagine that he will occasionally participate in first-team training, and if everything goes according to plan, he might even be sent on a tour the following summer.
